yeah we can't have that. Certainly wouldn't want a federal emergency response agency being political would we? But you're right, posters on this board are the problem

Nah, this is karma for people who cheered when Trump supporters houses got destroyed by hurricanes and floods. If you really ask me. They brought this on themselves by voting for incompetent morons based on race and gender. Now everything they own is going to be gone because of virtue signaling. Modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.

FORESTRY MANAGEMENT. Experts have been preaching it to the dumb Marxist fricks that rule over California for 3+ decades. And the virtue signaling, pearl clutching fools have completely ignored it

Even native Americans knew the forests needed thinning and did so with controlled burns

Anyone who says this shouldn't be politicized is either a liar or a fool.

feel like a broken record but if you still live in a blue state at this point you only have yourself to blame for what inevitably happens.

You realize that not everyone can just up and move, right? People have jobs, families, homes, etc. it would be nice to just up and leave every time someone didn’t like got voted in or we didn’t like a policy, but it’s not that easy.

Well, yeah. They can de-tard themselves by voting out the people that cause this. It’s not impossible. Baton Rouge just did it despite the politicians saying it was impossible

Don’t shoot the messenger pal.

And for the record I’m talking solid blue states where they will take your kids if you try and tell your son he isn’t a girl.

They have no water in the fire hydrants because of Democrat policies. They didn't do control burns because of Democrat policies. The high command of the LAFD is three lesbian women because of Democrat policies. The people are going to blame the politicians, but who put them in power? This is one of those FAFO moments.

Oh just shut the frick up with this shite already If you're having a difficult time having sympathy for fellow Americans there is a pretty simple reason why. It's because you're a shitty person.

It’s tough accepting the consequences of our own actions. It’s possible to have sympathy concerning the randomness of a natural disaster, but also realize the failed response from their local government agencies are a consequence of their own voting. Many of these same people haul arse out of California only to vote the same way in Texas, Florida, etc. Liberal socialism never works and people never learn. Socialist policies leave a trail of destruction in their wake, but people like those in LA(and you) never learn.

Yes and from 2016 to 2024 he increased his vote share between 5% and 25% in most every large US city.

It is a lack of intelligence more than anything else. Your justification is no different from the "disrespect" justification that we see all the time in ghetto violence.

Stupid people think and react emotionally.

The population of LA County is over 10 million. 10% voted for Trump.

If you saw what Gavin Newsom did to San Francisco during his term ans mayor, and thought, "yeah, he'd be a great leader for the entire State", then there is a strong possibility that you are
A. mentally retarded, or
B.Suffering from mental illness.

Stupid or psycho, take your pick because when the facts are presented, the only logical conclusion is one or the other. Right now, people are coming to the realization that there house and all their belongings are ash, all because they thought some field mouse or fish was at top of the priority list. These are the same people who have no problem with voting for a perosn who is ok with Honduras emptying their prisons and mental asylums, so that that those people can cross an open, American border. These people, that vote for these asshats, are then somehow surprised whn grandma gets pushed into an oncoming subway train and the fire hydrant on the corner on their street is dry as a bone! They are taxed higher than everyone else. The poor are pushed into crime because Pedro will do a job for $1 and hour, while living with 20 other people in a 1 bed/1 bath apartment.

For the life of me, I do not understand why a person of means would choose to live in a place like that.

That’s true. But not all of us vote for these policies. We’re the victims of policies we do not endorse. It’s like that anywhere it just depends on what side of the aisle you’re on.

Family, friends, kid being in a great school district, owning a business… your roots. We could leave but we don’t. I hate the political climate of the state but where I live is a good place. There are better but we’re happy here, for now. We have no intention of staying here forever but for now it’s home and we’re okay with that.

LA county has a population of over 10 million people. Kamala got 70% of the vote.

Keep voting Democrat. Things sure look great everywhere they are in power.

I get that, I really do. But the hard question that must be asked is, do you think it's more likely that things will improve or continue to worsen

Let's face it. Conservative-minded people, who are adept at using logic and reason, are leaving that State in droves, for a reason. Your State puts a fish above it's citizens! They advocate and protect hard-core drug users. They advocate for bureaucrats to have more say on the gender of your own offspring, than you do! All the while, pushing more taxes on the taxpayer while handing out freebies to cartel members who illegally cross the border.

You’re a stupid count, this exact same rationale would then apply to the Louisiana leadership and their failure to secure the new years event from vehicles driving down streets full of people.

Yes it would. And yes it does. I say that as someone born and raised in Louisiana and lived there most my life.

Do I blame the Cali / Louisiana govt for these catastrophic events happening? Not at all. Can’t prevent forest fires in California or a terrorist with a car on New Year’s Eve from causing carnage. And in the New Orleans attack, I applaud the first responders / police on bourbon st. Those cops heard it and immediately ran to the danger. Pretty awesome.

But, the lack of preventative measures and response (Cali) to reduce the amount of damage from said catastrophes? Local and state leaders of both states absolutely are responsible.

Would the concrete barriers on Bourbon St have prevented the attack from happening? Maybe. Could have deterred the terrorists from doing it at all. Worst case scenario, it forces him to get out the car and just start firing on foot if he decided to still do it. Which would have resulted in less death. That’s on the govt leaders.

California is always at the top of the list for wildfires. Everyone knows this. It’s a tinderbox and always has been. It is absolutely insane that they don’t use basic preventative measures like brush and undergrowth clearing or controlled burns. Especially around populated areas. It’s also insane that they have budget cuts for fire departments knowing wildfires are their biggest risk in terms of natural disaster and have unqualified people making those decisions. And to make it even worse… SOME AREAS FIRE HYDRANTS ARE DRY AND ITS AN OCEANFRONT CITY. Fresh water has always been an issue in Cali due to the climate. But if you KNOW wildfires are your biggest risk for natural disaster, have an emergency plan in place to pull water from any source to help combat them.

These simple measures wouldn’t prevent forest fires. They 100% would still happen. But the biggest issue with these forest fires is 0 containment. All the above + having and executing emergency plans would help massively with containment, resulting in less catastrophic loss. And that is 100% on the clowns in leadership over there.

Imagine if the govt stopped maintaining levees / pumps in NOLA and south LA on the river ? We know what the result would eventually be. That’s what Cali officials / policy have done. 0 preventative measures and no emergency plan in place when shite hits the fan. And that’s on them.
