I think it’s pretty simple, calculated decision. If they appease the radicals, they stay out of the news where a mountain will be made out of a molehill. The only cost is potentially pushing a few conservatives away, but time has shown that is a far better monetary consequence than dealing with the media shitstorm if they did something contrary to the desired narrative.
It’s why every major company has made the same decision. If they thought appeasing conservatives made more money, they’d do that. They obviously think the money is better this way.

Supply chain stuff and inflation are linked.
If it costs more to transport stuff and you get less of it, meaning scarcity, prices go up or you have shortages.

They hate you want to enslave the world and sacrifice babies. Wish I was joking. Target upper management is but a cog in the wheel. You are looking at target as if they are separate from the evil that pervades DC and the rulers of DC.
Look at it from the perspective of a team. If target takes a hit. It isn't a huge deal because they are part of a much bigger team.
