The Nazi atomic program was a joke. They had some smart dudes poking around with uranium cubes in a basement in 1945 and still couldn’t get a reactor to actually work. They needed about twice the uranium and way more heavy water than they even had. There was no enrichment and no real bomb physics. The whole thing got demoted to a science-fair project in 1942 because Albert Speer figured it wouldn’t matter before the war ended. The Farm Hall tapes show those guys were shocked as hell when Hiroshima happened.

The same is true for aircraft capable of reaching and bombing North America. A couple of prototypes looked cool on paper and flew a little, but there was zero production and zero chance of actually bombing New York and making it home with a real payload.

I’ve been to a few reunions of my grandfather’s fighter squadron and it’s amazing how many people I’ve spoken to children and grandchildren of these pilots who are mostly all dead who question “was what our paw paws did really worth it knowing what we know now?” These people aren’t wackos or Nazi sympathizers. Looking around Europe and our own country that has literally been invaded by low IQ Illegal Immigrants from all over the third world was all the death and destruction and ending of family trees worth it? As time goes on I’m not so sure and I don’t say that gleefully. It’s ridiculous that I’m even having to question our involvement in WWII but here we are.
