The results of this farce won't lead us any closer to that answer.

Its not a 'farce' as Fauci lied and lied knowingly to everyone - politicians, his peers, the American people, etc.
His 'diary' reads like a madman drunk on power. The 'vaccine' that was pushed and even sometimes forced on people was a dud. Furthermore, because of this you now have people who were once sane and rational thinkers questioning every single vaccine that comes to market and honestly after all the lies, half truths, and mistruths during Covid who can blame them? Fauci did irreparable damage to many people and businesses. All for his own ego. He should absolutely be held accountable for his lies and all that they caused.

Rarely if ever do you communicate a coherent thought so how is this surprising

next thing you know people will be here saying they are "too busy" for the theatrics of the US Senate trying to get to the bottom of it when all the previous admin did was treat Fauci like a god and then give him a blanket pardon (which I presume we weren't too busy for those theatrics).

I don't blame them. If I was a poster so enamored with vaccines as the poster you are replying to I'd be trying to do anything I could to change the trajectory of the above. but I guess we're just "too busy" for that.

I am too busy to know why Rand is doing this farce but it is likely nonsense on his part and a distraction from other Trumpian nonsense. Anti-vaxxers are dumb as frick too.

What Rand is doing is very important. Our country was held hostage by a lying bureaucrat, and we need to hold people like that accountable - not for revenge but so that people will hesitate to do that in the future.

Also the fact he compiled his 'diary' on a government computer, and did so at a time he was directing others to be evasive regarding emails, gives a sense of his reasoning (and intellect TBH).

you started in this thread by saying you were too busy to deal with the "theatrics" of the US Senate in the process. Do you really think anybody expects you to act "in good faith" from there.

Yup.

We didn't hold the actual administration in charge of the initial pandemic response accountable. And we aren't going to fix the institutional crisis that Fauci had a massive part in facilitating. Why do I have to pretend like this is the 'first step' when I know we aren't going to do that?

Because each of those vaccination programs are their own individual thing. If you purport that one side is being dishonest, the response is not to be dishonest in response, as anti-vaxxers have been broadly.

you don't. but don't pretend you're not a pompous POS in the process. And for entering the thread like the above and expecting anything other than the abuse you are receiving.

I do. We haven't even begun to undo the complete regulatory and academic capture of the intersection between the basic research and pharmaceutical research. And given who is in this administration and their backgrounds, it likely will never be on the agenda.

Before CV19, the main criticisms of Fauci were about how he helped facilitate the relationship between private entities and publicly-funded research. That pattern began before Fauci, arguably starting in 1976 with Herbert Boyer, but regardless, undoing that is not something I expect from any side of the aisle.

We've discovered several people who can't read and who unsurprisingly don't want to discuss immunology or molecular biology, except for NC_Tigah.

They end up using anti-vaxxer talking points almost singularly.

I straight up don't trust anyone in our government to adjudicate this, especially in this political environment. Instead I would rather fix the instiutional crisis, but that is something we won't ever fix.
