Trump was very specifically referring to “spas, beauty parlors and tattoo parlors”. You may not find that nuance to be of any moment, but I find it to very much be so.

What was the politically palatable alternative for the President to Covid, when he lost to a guy who's principal platform was that the federal government didn't take enough draconian measures?
This is what I never understand vis a vis this discussion, and I'm personally someone who basically hated EVERY covid restriction at EVERY level.
I know the answer is always something like, well he should have been able to persuade the public better, but that's just fantasy drivel that pretends there wasn't the reality of the time.
Fact is they found his kryptonite. I don't understand the point of pretending it was anything else.
