Words like sovereign and nationalism cause soy boys to piss their pants. Crazy how mass authoritarian collectivism has taken over the world wide left.

Funny how those are good words when it comes to Ukraine.

SFP to Rosa Parks: Sorry, lady, you need to go to the back of the bus. It's the law. If you don't like it, you are free to move or lobby to change the law. Until then, get to the back of the bus.

The irony of that example and the laws that were passed in response

But yes, she was a part of the movement to enact change.

However, she could not withdraw like Hungary can. Also, Hungary doesn't seem to really be promoting changing the law, just ignoring the law they don't like.

But I would think that this is "clearly " the opposite. Hungary is saying we'd rather have our sovereignty than your (EU) "benefits"

Then why not leave?

I think that is the ultimate outcome, but it's not a case of packing up the camping gear heading home.

Well with Ukraine, it's the sovereignty to join an international organization, if we want to go full circle.

You don’t find it interesting or relevant to the discussion that the EU is coming down hard on Hungary?

The heavy handedness over the immigration issue may eventually force more than one actor to push back.

I've never seen anything like the current invisible hand pushing these immigrants into Western countries. Someone is getting paid.

They're coming down on Hungary for years of ignoring their regulations. It's pretty standard escalatory behavior by a regulating body. First there is a warning, then a fine, and then there will be more punitive measures.

What I don't care about in this discussion is why they created those regulations.

In other words, that discussion is something you’d rather not comment on (for obvious reasons).

It has no place in the discussion

Whether its a globalist conspiracy, the jews, anti-Eastern European bias, guilt for European empire, anti-Trumpism, etc. it's irrelevant.

It would just create diversions, which seems to be what people REALLY want to discuss. The "Start Topic" button is right there to create that thread.

Your idea of costs of membership is accepting African terrorists who will rape and torment citizens

No, that’s not SFP’s idea of the cost of membership; it IS the cost of membership. SFP is just pointing out that undeniable fact. He never made a comment on whether he thinks Hungary should pull out or not.

The company I work for is contracted by a major company out of Debrecen. We work directly with them out of Budapest. I was there 2 years ago. They are incredibly patriotic and will not bend the knee to the immigration mandates, even if it means losing membership and benefits. Budapest is by far the most EU friendly city there. Majority of the rest of the country can't stand the EU. Hungary holds all the cards here. EU can't and will not kick them out. Hungary is crucial to Eastern Euro relations, particularly Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria. Poland will never stop business with Hungary, who are vital to the Hungarian economy.
