The problem was the GOP never repealed it even after 6 years the GOP took WH, House and Senate and still didn't repealed it. Frankly we were lucky the bill had a 10 year expiration date or we would most likely still have that ban.

I was referring to the rented-mule beating they took in the midterms after that shite was passed.

Please... go into Chicago and New Orleans and take the guns from the felons, criminals and those with illegal guns now and show us how its done.

Use your social workers for extra points.

I predict they are going to use the exact same process they did to get Obamacare through congress and being able to call fees a tax so that its can pass through the SC.

Y'all are acting like this bill is already on Biden's desk, waiting for his signature. It won't even make it out of committee.

Hopefully you are correct, but the way things are today I find little comfort in hearing, "it could never happen here."

I think there is little doubt the Democrats are going to be pushing some gun legislation and/or executive orders very hard, and it will have a lot of the provisions you see in that House Bill.

I’m curious if the GOPe will try to make the licenses a national reciprocity license for concealed carry.

Psychological Evals
My favorite. You can't get a mental health appointment in most places if you're seriously ill. I'm not sure how they'd vet millions of gun owners.

Not to mention... completely useless. The Congressssssswommaaaaannn seems to have confused Psychiatrists with mind-reading, fortune-telling psychics. Unfortunately Psychaitrists are doctors, not fortune tellers.

If a liberal district court judge in California shot a much more benign law down on Constitutional grounds last year, the SCOTUS should have a field day with this bullshite if Congress tries to pass it

Two issues I see with what they want to here. First I don’t see how they can get around HIPPA. If your not adjudicated then any medical information couldn’t be released by a medical provider without changing the law.

Second is the FBI NICX unit data doesn’t have the data collection capability or infrastructure to handle all of what would be required in this bill.

An individual can authorize medical providers to release their medical records to anyone they choose.

I am hoping that they will... ie- my concealed carry license valid in all 50 states.
