That worries me more than the fricking Chinese. COVID really opened my eyes to the extent people will succumb to fear.
The Chinese would (behind the scenes) use the MSM and social media to issue propaganda.
Instead of Tokyo Rose, you would have Shanghai Joe vilifying your very existence.
The sheep would gladly comply and turn their guns on you.
This is a hypothetical thread, but what I have described is not only possible, I would suggest that it is plausible.

In my opinion, whichever nation attempts to invade and occupy the other WILL lose.
The only way to win this war is through crippling the opposing nation economically and politically until the ruling regime is toppled via elections or revolution, at which point you can make peace with the new government.
The U.S. doesn’t defeat China by invading and occupying China. It does so by cutting the Chinese economy off from critical resources which it must import in order to function. Then, it infiltrates and leans on those shortages of food and energy to foment a revolution and try to steer who wins the Civil War.
China will be engaged in an identical strategy here in America of destabilizing the economy, cutting us off from needed resources, and fomenting political unrest.

quote:I agree, but you don't think there is a plan to go directly after the head of the snake? As many disloyal people we have here, multiply that times a 100 in China. Our people have delusions of oppression. Theirs know the real thing.
No World Power could successfully launch an invasion of the continental United States. Our Navy could knock out any invasion force and can you imagine the civilian guns aimed at anyone that made it to a city or state off the coast? The only thing that scares me is nukes- Chinese leadership is not concerned with civilian deaths even in their own country, they could lose millions and could care less, they can be replaced.

They're already doing that.

Unwinnable... Supply lines stretched to the limit. Too many people to kill.

It took Lincoln taking unprecedented actions against Northern citizen, the government, AND the constitution to quell the resistance to the war at home.

China does not even have the civil liberties we all know and expect.....and they still have massive protests and shite like Tiananmen Square.

Biden has us begging Venezuela for oil. We have so much natural gas and coal, we burn it because we can't store it. Coal is so cheap, mines have shutting down because it's not worth the cost.

It's not winnable by China and for us to win it we'd be cutting off our own arm. The only reason we'd ever go to blows would be if we put in a president they had a hook in.
Then we'd lose as he threw our men into the meat grinder to look like he did something. It wouldn't be an actual defense. Just enough to get him out of it.

agree but just think after we would win a war with China we would wipe our debt out.

We are also their competition.
If they beat us, then they will become our sole provider.
That's not how it works. Occupation is very expensive in terms of people, money, international support, and support back home.
The war is a psychological one now. It's about information, corruption, psyops, and narratives.

They only allow one child per family BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FEED AN EVER EXPANDING POPULATION!
China ended the one child policy in 2015 because they now foresee a labor shortage. Also, they noticed their population was suddenly aging at a rapid rate, so they turned Covid loose. They are buying up farm land, mineral rights, ports/ shipping, media, telecommunications and other major infrastructure all over the world.
Ignore China at your peril. China has been at war with the USA for decades now.

They couldn’t touch us but it would be awkward for us to get onto mainland China.

Considering they have 3x more people, and how our military has been totally nerfed?
Sadly, I think if the US and China go to war, nukes may be involved, especially considering Xi DGAF about much. It's also probably part of the reason we haven't been to war with them or Russia yet.

Reading where a US General predicts war with China before 2025. How would it play out?
China with a lot of cyber attacks on the US infrastructure causing mass outages and widespread panic.
Biden Administration or other liberal administration play footsie with tough talk but don't really DO anything. Some proxy battles in key spots across the globe then all settles down.
China gonna China.
US further bankrupts itself by continuing to print money to restore damaged infrastructure.
The End.
If there is a conservative administration in place, war with China doesn't happen though these proxy wars continue and maybe even heat up a little.

China Preemptively deploys EMPS to disable our communication and power grid. It renders our nukes, drones, tanks-basically anything with a computer, useless.
They activate their million man sleeper cell army that is already here.
They invade from the north as well. Canada has been bought and paid for- thanks, Justin.
The southern border is already wide open.
Meanwhile, what’s left of our soldiers are busy in an all-day seminar on what to do if someone mis-pronouns you, and can’t be bothered.
The Liberals in power cooperate with their buddies from Beijing, hoping to hold onto their positions of power. They are the first killed, so it’s not all bad.
The north, west, and east fall. The south holds the line and remains free.
