Agreed. And we can thank President Trump for re-establishing the federal death penalty against all odds. I use to be against the death penalty in my younger days, but not anymore. Some people are just evil and deserve the ultimate penalty the state can impose, death.

How so? Are you referring to prohibition of “cruel and unusual”? Cruel is subjective. Most people say let the punishment fit the crime. Murder a bunch of innocent children, get crucified and have your body eaten by vultures and dogs. If it becomes standard punishment, then it no longer becomes unusual. See the word “and” between “cruel” and “unusual”? You know how logic works? Both cruel and unusual must be asserted simultaneously. The 8th doesn’t prohibit cruel punishment, nor does it prohibit unusual punishment. It prohibits cruel and unusual punishment.
The rights of criminals stop where they infringe on the rights of others. I take it you are against capital punishment. That’s a shame.

People who do these acts are sociopaths or mentally ill. Punishment never enters their mind. They are akin to a rabid animal. We have no choice but to put them down. There is no cure. They will always be a threat. They do not think like a person who considers actions and consequences.
