I'm listening to Trump speak at Mount Rushmore as I type this.
My family on my father's side dates back to the late 1600's....here's the only descendant that I can 100% verify was killed during the Revolutionary War....my Great Grandfather X 5.
BTW, Adonijah's father John Peacock arrived in the colonies of America as an indentured servant in the late 1600's
God Bless the USA and those who gave all for the birth of a nation

Adonijah Peacock made gunpowder for the Continental Army on his farm which was located about two miles from here on what is now Brannin Road. In January 1777, he was killed when gunpowder he was drying exploded.
John Hunt, A Quaker Minister in Moorestown, recorded the following in his diary on January 20, 1777: [1]
(Spelling has not been modernized or corrected.)
"This day Nijah Peacock was buried, a very ingenous man in Evesham. He had, since the wars began, erected a powder mill and carryed it on to considerable perfection till one day he was at work amongst his powder and by some means it catchd fire and kild him and hurt several of his family besides. It was said that the rhoof of the house was blown off and very much shattered to pieces with the blast of the powder heard for ten miles around"

Doesn't count. He was white.

Ancestor served in the Galvez Expedition.

Oh wow that’s a very interesting story about your ancestor! The continentals struggled to have sufficient supply of gun powder and especially during the years 1775-1777 so your ancestor was crucial in helping them at their greatest time of need.

Certainly doesn't mean shite to the enemies from within, neither does the deaths of several Peacocks during the Civil War.

There’s a good chance if you have an ancestor who fought in the civil war (for the confederacy) you have at least one colonial ancestor who either fought for independence or gave material aid to the cause. Lincoln imported a ton of immigrants to fight for the north.

The colonists had to quickly ramp up the domestic production of gunpowder because much of the powder for the Revolutionary War was initially coming from France.

My mother's side was Dixon....may have been a direct descendant of the Dixon associated to the Mason/Dixon Line but I have yet to do a deep dive into that side of the family. I know the family had roots in SC.

I don’t know. One of my Aunts went back and looked through our family history on my dad’s side when I was a kid. That’s been a very long time though and if she told me anything about it then I have forgotten about it. She passed in 2014. I don’t think anyone has ever looked way back into our history on my mom’s side of the family. May be something I need to talk to mom about and see if we can’t do that sometime.

I’m in process of filling out application for Society of the Cincinnati. My uncle recently passed and I am next eligible heir.
So I have that going for me, which is nice.

Would this make my French colonial ancestors who arrived in Louisiana some time around the 1720s count?

Go to Familysearch.com, you can make an account to do genealogy research and it's free. It's not as meticulous as some other genealogy websites but it's pretty good for being a free service and it uses the same Mormon records that many genealogy websites use.
