Simply cannot understand the anti-vaxx mentality. What are yall gonna do in 2 years when there's an awesome mrna vac for the common cold? Not get that either? Common colds don't cause "major issues" - they just suck and I'm happy to avoid them. Ditto the awesome new flu vax that is likely to come as well, and will obviate the need for boosters every year.

It's crazy to me that Trump hasn't claimed the vaccines all for his own legacy - he plausibly could have done so.

We should also be vaxxing up Africa and India et al. Anything that prevents major trading partners from shutting down some/all of their economies is great for us

You're beyond the help of any vaccine...

Why are they paying people to take them?

Because folks like you exist haha. The lack of self awareness in this question is funny. This doesn't even need to be an insult...getting paid to do something creates larger incentive for those that may be resistant.

Why such a strong push? For such a non lethal virus..

It's been deadlier than the flu virus so I would expect a push for it. Convincing yourself on the level of it's lethality based on your political views doesn't actually make it more/less lethal.

Why did they suppress alternate treatments?

You mean why did the government and/or drug companies not stop what they are doing to support unverified alternatives that would need the same rigorous testing they had been doing on an actual vaccine? Who knows....?

This should be the PT board motto. It's the convenient catch all for anything the government is responsible for or involved with other than military spending.

I get the feeling you were beating your chest before you even hit the submit button. But, the way you addressed each point reeks of jackass.

Are we actually now disputing the fact that colds spread?

No, but why would i inject myself with a vaccine for something that might give me the sniffles once/year?

quote:

Hundreds of millions will. You will be the moron on the outside looking in, apparently.

For the same reasons i'm not getting a Covid vaccine, a) i'm not soft enough to give into peer pressure from leftists and b) i'm not getting a vaccine for a virus that has an overwhelmingly high survivability rate and c) it's the height of stupidity that you are arguing FOR getting a "common cold" vaccine. Boy you are ate up with the government funded fear machine.

Or I'd prefer to just live my life fully with a bit more comfort.

I guarantee you, that i live WAY more comfortably than you do, in terms of health, and i am way more at peace with my decisions to not get "emergency vaccines" because some "expert" who is compromised tells me to.

Would you get a vaccine if it prevented mosquito bites or poison ivy?

HELL NO!!! Good lord, man. Did you completely run out of your entire supply of testosterone? What psychopath would take a vaccine to prevent the common cold, mosquito bites, and poison ivy? I'm shocked you've made it this far in life, with this constant fear. You need help.

Because folks like me exist? Do you hear yourself? I am simply someone who doesn’t want to take a vaccine that isn’t FDA approved, was rushed, and has no long term data, and is supposed to protect me from something I don’t need protection from..

I’m sorry I am not a normie who goes around doubled masked alone in their car. How dare I be so illogical.

Ummm huh oh yeah. So much death. So so much death. How will we ever survive?

Wait the ones pushing this rushed vaccine? You can deny the effectiveness of alternatives all you want..many many countries around the world are finding them beneficial.

Fully support anyone who chooses to not get the vaccine. The only reason I got it is because of these variants that are much more deadly. I have a co-worker in India - both of his parents died from it last month.

Then, he and his wife caught it. He died yesterday.

Then, His wife just died this morning.

It is hard to understand the ferocity of this variant in India.

I am assuming they had not taken the vaccine? It has been available in India for a few months.

Not sure, I do know India had vaccine shortages, though.

I am extremely conservative on most issues. I am vaccinated. There is no conspiracy. Not only do lefties make up a large portion of those getting the vaccine, but Why would the companies that made the vaccines roll out something that could destroy their company if it fails?

I do not think anyone should be forced into vaccination. Everything should be opened up full blast as if covid never happened immediately.

If you are vaccinated

1. you have a small chance of getting covid
2. almost a zero percent chance of any hospitalization/death
3. much less likely to spread covid if somehow you do get it.
4. The risk is further mitigated Because everyone you may possibly spread covid to has had the opportunity to be vaccinated themselves.

If insurance will not cover covid with anyone that refuses vaccination then I think that is fair as well.

In closing everyone makes their own decisions and its time to go back to normal. I do not want one more minute of covid 19 in my life due to anyone that does not want the vaccine. Thats their decision and that is fine.

<———- This guy

Who happens to be a First Responder and never missed a day of work throughout the pandemic. I got the jab the first day it was available to me which was March. I proudly made the entire year without getting infected.

You kids that stayed home and sat in your PJ’s for a year are a bunch of pussies.

So you’d rather catch a virus that was designed and engineered in a Chinese lab as a bio weapon rather than take a vaccine that we have rigorously tested and was designed by American corporations.

That really leaves off a lot of pertinent details of which include the constitution of the vaccines, the speed in which they were thrown together, and certainly you might juuuust want to mention that many folks have a proven very low issue rate from the virus. Why leave these out aside from trying to hurl some bullshite?

What is the benefit of getting a vaccine for a virus that I have a 99.7 percent chance of surviving? Now a virus like AIDS for example is a different story. It’s a death sentence with a few exceptions. Now if an AIDS vaccine were developed would I get it? Probably not. Why? Because I don’t engage in high risk sexual activity and more specifically I dont engage in a high risk homosexual lifestyle. People that do live high risk lifestyles more than likely would take it.

I don't really understand why people are so damn judgmental about someone else taking a vaccine. Do you also worry about other shite those people are doing all the time church lady? What business is it of yours. I could not care less if you took the vaccine. Enough will to get us to herd immunity along with those that catch the virus. Hell we're practically there and now you retards want to shite bricks over this? Find something worth worrying about. If you didn't take it, I DO NOT CARE. I'll be the guy running around without a mask and zero concern for your opinion either way.

Jesus, people need to get a life. fricking vaccine became a do or die fricking political litmus test. You people need to find something to do with your own lives and stop worrying about everyone elses.

Because we live in a society where if your world view doesn’t match my world view you are my enemy. The days of we just have a different opinions are over. Middle ground no longer exists because Dems decided to destroy it because they are consumed with hatred for Donald Trump.

I have had 2 family members try to push it on me and I told them no thank you and stop pressing. I don't want it ,because I don't need it. The big one for me is the leak from Project Veritas where Zuckerberg said "we just don't know the long term side effects of modifying peoples DNA and RNA." The people pushing this are sleazy and corrupt, the timing of everything just screams that alot of frickery is involved with this virus and vaccine.
