I feel it's inevitable at this point and will happen so I just want to get my finger on the pulse of how much it will be supported

Im on the record for being 100% against war with Iran or any more conflict in the middle east involving the US

Depends...

Are we just going to blow shite up and kill bad guys? Or are we going to engaging in nation building/reconstruction?

If just the former, ok. The latter? frick no.

Hard no. Not getting into these things was one of the MAGA planks I agreed with (I just didn't believe it was sincere).

going into iran would be exactly the same as going into iraq. they have weapons of mass destruction. at least iraq had no defense system. iran has purchased high tech things from russia. s400 and maybe s500.

Honestly, this makes it seem nothing like Iraq

Hypothetical question. Did they touch an American?

If not then, NO.

I saw a video of someone that drove around Iran, looked at all its cities. Iran seems like a nice place with nice citizens. Just like Russia, we have been gaslit into hating these people, when at most their leaders are just POS. Their people probably dont give a damn about Israel or Hamas or the US for that matter.

I also wonder how much of what we hear about Iran is lies. Ive never actually heard their side of this.

There is a huge difference between the people of Iran who obviously love their homeland and the oppressive regime that controls them. Just outright attacks on Iran would rally the nation as the have their brand of ignorant people as well. If it came to a head then the only way this works is a complete wipeout of leadership covertly with added drones and no troops

Why not make a deal deal with them? Who knows , maybe they're Republicans.

I'm actually serious here. It 's ridiculous that after 45 years we can't come to a meeting of the minds with these guys... get them to stop the support of shi thead groups like Hezbollah and stupid threats against Israel - a country that when the Shah was in power they had real and stable diplomatic relations with.

We've been talking this foolishness of Iran's nuclear program almost as far back as W's Admin.....they haven't developed it yet....they've had 15+ years to do it. Have a sit down, clear the air. We aren't going to war with them. They've played the role of middle east boogeyman for far too long.

Or...we could just leave them be...maybe actually normalize relations with them. Instead of threatening them all the time, we could give them positive incentives to play nicely

Not in support of a war, but if we get involved, just wipe the entire region off the planet.

I do not support ging in a starting a war anywhere just because some politician says they are a threat.

However, if US citizens are attacked, US Commerce is attacked, or a treaty allies are attacked........

I feel like we never get clarity on the uranium enrichment thing and it's one of those subjects that you can use to support whichever side you want to pick in terms of intervention or not.

For whatever reason, the Bill Kristol/John Bolton brigade is horny for war there and it's hard to root out all the people like Waltz who carry their water. JD and Hegseth are interesting in that they are yuge Israel supporters, but seem to be showing restraint right now.
