For a while, I had lost my health insurance, and I was afraid pf complications from the vaccine putting me in the hospital. The day my insurance kicked in, I caught Covid. Now, I can’t get the vaccine for 3 months because as part of my Covid treatment, I received an antibody infusion. I only really want the vaccine because New Orleans mandates proof of vaccination or negative test to go to bars, restaurants, festivals, gyms, sporting events, and concerts, and LSU requires the same to attend games. I’m a die hard Tiger fan, and I live walking distance from the Super Dome. I can count on one hand the number of LSU home games I’ve missed over the last 16 seasons, but due to these absurd rules, I likely won’t get to attend any games this year.

I got it. The first shot did nothing, but the 2nd shot made me feel like shite for 3 days.

I'm nearly 70, female.

I remember the Thalidomide debacle. I decided early on that I'd rather take my chances with COVID for natural antibodies than with a 'vaccine' with no long-term studies. Also, I believe the COVID numbers are skewed. No one will convince me that the flu just up and disappeared and pneumonia caused by flu went right along with it.

Several of my friends (of like age) have had COVID, two in the last couple of weeks, along with a couple of older relatives, all unvaccinated. They're just fine. Only two people I know had a hard time with it. They're fine now, too.

I understand that COVID can kill. It can kill the vaccinated as well as the unvaccinated. The vaccine itself can kill.

All that said, each person should make their individual choice.

I’m concerned that some unknown side effect might show up in the future. It’s happened quite a few times in the past-Vioxx,Bextra,Fen-phen and quite a few others. So FDA approval doesn’t particularly impress me.
All the Drs.insisting it is safe-I was an RN for 35 years, the list of medical practices that were found to be useless and in some cases harmful during my career is impressive.I could type pages of examples.Drs.are smart in some ways but very few are critical thinkers. They engage in group think and most just follow the conventional wisdom.A few deviate but they typically are not treated well by the medical establishment.
Then I’ve studied medical history some,,the list of medical practices that were wrong is also impressive.
I’m also fairly confident of my immune system.I had Hepatitis C I surely acquired from a needle stick.I refused treatment, did blood tests every 6 months to check my viral load and after 3 years was found to be virus free.
I may take the Novavax version when and if our government overlords allow it on the market. There is so much money being made off Pfizer and Moderna I’m not confident it ever will.

1. I don't need it. My immune system is great. I don't take the flu shot either, and I've never had the flu. 99.9+% survival rate.
2. I don't trust the people pushing it. They've lied too many times for an obvious political agenda.
3. There's too many reported negative reactions without any long term studies.
4. The efficacy continually drops.

As a bonus, it pisses off leftists.

In time for another government conspiracy obsession.

so you don't think people with Covid are getting a ventilator and dying?

you think that's made up BS?

you think all the other world governments are in on this conspiracy?

I just wonder if Trump was our President, would have I already taken the vaccine? he pushed for it, he got it done and took the vax himself..

the Democrats said they wouldn't touch anything Trump had a hand in, now they are in charge of the country and shoving Vax mandates down our throats.

the whole subject of the vaccine is tied to trust...

for the un-vaccinated like myself, it comes down to trust issues and the unknowns

for most people, they can survive covid but if you're the unlucky one who it hammers, it's best you have a shot to have a better chance

I know 2 people who had covid and said it was a terrible experience, but today, they will not get the vax...they feel protected through natural immunity

I haven't had Covid, but with each day, I know it's likely I could get it at some point

I think everyone is going to get it just like most have had the flu at some point in their lives

The data and studies coming out of Israel is compelling.

-Natural immunity is significantly better
-Vax immunity wanes around 5-6 months
-Vaxxed are getting Covid at a very similar rate
-As more time passes, hospitalizations are increasingly similar

The above makes ANY risk from the shots too much for me, there isn’t much benefit. Especially since you are signing up for at least 3 shots a year if you’re “in.”

Vaccine only makes sense as a risk hedge and depends upon the individual. That said, the benefits outweigh the risks in many people- many more than some may think.

Im beginning to get concerned regarding reinfections, though. I recently infused (yes, actually did the infusion) a Regeneron to a patient who had covid 7 months ago and just got it again.

They never got vaccinated due to that (which I agree with) but also had their IgM / IgG constantly tested.

They never seroconverted IgG- only IgM. I’m not even sure if vaccination would help this person. It makes me wonder if there’s a certain segment of the population that will always have some level of susceptibility to infection no matter what we do because they won’t mount a full immune response.

I’m interested to see what happens with this persons IgG after reinfection.
