LSU lost me when they decided it was a good idea to light up Tiger Stadium in honor of George Floyd

I mean seriously who thought that was a good idea

The school I attended and lettered in is a smaller school but yes it’s really affected my opinion of them. I no longer donate to the Alumni fund or sports funds. I no longer attend the annual meetings other than a yearly bigger one.

I hope you let them know that and exactly why.

Alumni Associations need to foster a purge of Marxists and their useless idiots in colleges.

Love a man who knows his history.

I did not realize til a few years back, that the US issued them as well. Saw one that went up for auction signed by James Madison, another that had been sold with Jefferson.

By 2013, I had probably been to close to 400 Auburn games. Since then, maybe 7 or 8. I kind of knew that once I broke the habit of always going, things would change. I still watch or listen to every football and bball game, but I no longer devote a weekend to Jordan-Hare. It's not the politics so much as the way the U treats the fans. All they want is your money, and once they have that, they'd just as soon you stay away. The cost of college has grown sky high, along with the number of Vice-Deans and other high-dollar bureaucrats that it apparently now takes to run the place. The professors, in general, are more liberal now, but I think the majority of the students are just college students, more interested in the same things I was interested in at that age than virtue signaling. The long-time residents haven't changed, thankfully, but there are a lot of retirees moving in now, and commuters. I still have a house there and go to it often. Wish I was there now.

A&M last week held a DRAG QUEEN Pageant in THE MEMORIAL STUDENT CENTER.

Meh.

Tulane used to have one of those in the 1990s. Wasn't an LGBT event - some of the Newcomb students started it up as a Covenant House fundraiser and the contestants were normal guys.

I wanted to capture a larger political spectrum than just the extreme left. That's why I originally used "liberalism." Maybe I should have said "leftist" instead.

Probably would have conveyed your intent better.

Liberals are good. Woke leftists are awful.

I've watched the Astros since '75, couldn't do it after last years MLB / BLM adoration.

I quit the NFL about '17 when the USA haters began their march on the flag/anthem.

I haven't watched the NBA since the early '90s, so all of their 'wokeness' was missed by me.

LSU, I was done this year after the BLM plastered all over the scoreboard.

Actually, I've found life is better now and realize that sports meant little to nothing to me. If it was non political like the 70's-80's I would be all for it, now I could not care less.

A&M came close, but fired the piece of shite University President that was fanning the flames of it.

I certainly have. I love Ole Miss but the place is less and less the Ole Miss that I love.
Interesting. How do you think you would have felt about such things in, say, 1963? Do you think it was "leftist politics" that insisted on treating James Meredith like the human taxpaying Mississippian that he was? Or was it "rightist" politics" that fought the National Guard in the streets of Oxford so that he couldn't attend?

My daughter (no pics) goes to OU. It's been pretty conservative compared to LSU's administration, although a bunch of parents signed a letter, myself included, called out the university president for sending out a message condemning police violence re: George Floyd and hadn't sent out anything condemning the riots and protests around the country. But that's about it.

I quit going to old miss after they implemented the pay for parking on campus. Frick them. If you can’t get on campus early, you deserve to park on the highway.

I’ll never wear another school related item of clothing or spend a penny supporting my school. My kids will not attend said school. Period.

I lit multiple LSU executives up after the stadium was lit in George Floyd's HS colors (a multiple felon drug addict who held a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach while she was robbed.. SERIOUSLY?) and terrorist organization BLM was honored on the scoreboard.... I also cancelled my longtime season football tix/TAF Membership and will never renew.
EHS just hit me up for the annual fund. They will get a similarly strong worded letter and no donation. I was enough of a consistent donor to have my name on a plaque. Never again.
