This is called another Trump failure.

Partly because he chooses to only surround himself with sycophants and “yes master” people that only tell him what they think he wants to hear vs what can actually be accomplished.

How? Threatening to target and mine the passage. If you're hauling a massive tanker full of oil, are you going to put your crew, your ship and the cargo at risk of being blown up and sunk?

No, you're not.

So you park your ship and choose to not go through.

You'd be crowing from the high heavens about how awesome this whole operation was if a Democrat was in the whitehouse your partisan dipshit.

Small Rockets, Drones, and mines or at least the threat of mines. Honestly if the ships really wanted to they probably could pass it as much as they wanted. The problem is once the first ship got hit the Insurance companies covering the ships said they won’t pay out if a ship is hit trying to pass the Strait. That’s the real problem.

The Straight being closed means very little to the United States from a strategic perspective.

You can’t even spell “strait” correctly.

It’s not just the strait they can hit. They can hit the entire Persian Gulf.

Great idea in fantasy land, terrible once the Russians and Chinese show up and start escorting their tankers through.

The ChiComs can do nothing. And the Russians? Please. And we don't even have to control the straight to prevent the Iranians from exporting any of their oil.

You can play it off all you want, but you’re making grandiose statements about geopolitical topics, and you can’t even be bothered to use a correct term. It’s not a simple typo either. They’re two different words.

Whatever makes you sleep better at night I guess. You caught me. The autocorrect on my tablet changing "strait" to "straight" is obviously an indication I have no idea what I'm talking about.

However shall I go about my day now?

Bubba baw, I’ll just say this: Biden and Obama combined haven’t f’d regular Americans over as “bigly” as the orange shite stain has. Have you been to the Dollar General up the road to get your groceries lately? I say that because I know that’s likely where you shop. Maga people frequent those places.
He’s hitting you in the wallet every time you go to buy anything anywhere. You voted for it, proudly.

Sure.

Your misuse was the least asinine thing about your statements, however.

Oh yeah, I’m the imbecile, and not the guy saying that the “straight” (hey, my autocorrect corrected a correct word) is of no importance.

You can kill every ant in your yard. You just use insecticide.

stopping them from this type of thing is kind of like trying to kill EVERY ant in your yard…

This 100%.
If they manage to sink two or three large ships in a short window of time chaos will erupt in the stock markets, etc.

In short, it is alot like trying to thwart a terrorist attack in the US. We have to be effective 100% of the time. Their efforts are focused on merely trying to succeed once out of many attempts.

Among other things they have a bunch of kamikaze drones. Very hard to stop.

We need to tell them that they will leave the straight alone or they will never export another drop of oil.

Absolutely correct.
They've always had the ability to blow up a tanker with some missles or speed boat loaded with explosives, now more sophisticated drones. They never used them before as you said...if they do something, they'll never get another drop of oil transported outside their country. US would take out all pipelines and destroy all loading terminals. The money flow stops immediately.
