That they’re over. Those rights don’t go to citizens. They go to people. Free speech and basic rights would be dead.

The left would have rolled Paul up and sent him down the hill.

Might want to take Eisenhower off your list.
And after researching Truman and the IRS scandal I'm not exactly sure he sets the bar either.

History repeating itself I guess

In 1950, Senator Estes Kefauver led a Committee, investigating numerous charges of corruption, with senior administration officials alleged to have received gifts in exchange for favors, and a large number of IRB (IRS) employees said to be accepting bribes; More than 160 employees either resigned or were fired in 1950, with many soon facing indictment. It got worse: in 1951, Truman's long-time friend and chairman of the Democratic National Committee, William M. Boyle, was forced to resign after being charged with financial corruption. And when Attorney General J. Howard McGrath tried to fire special prosecutor Newbold Morris in early 1952 for being too zealous, Truman had to fire McGrath, stoking up corruption as a major issue in the 1952 presidential election

Some would argue that infidelity on its face is also a bad thing even while acknowledging it's ultimately between him and his wife.
Personally, I don't really care. The fact that Trump likes to bang whores is probably the least surprising thing about him I can think of.

For what? What did they have Rand Paul on? Was there anything near “grab em by the pussy”? No there wasn’t. The election was not about how good of a candidate Donald Trump was, but about how despicable Hillary Clinton was. Rand Paul would have destroyed her and may have gotten states as liberal as Illinois.

Why didn’t we nominate a person of character to fight her like Rand Paul?
People didn’t vote for Trump because of his fine and morally upstanding character. They voted for him precisely because he wasn’t establishment.
If nothing else comes out of his presidency, we are seeing that NO ONE in DC gives a damn about anything but pointing fingers and getting re-elected. He may be the wake up call that we needed. We’ve been complacent for too long.

Donald Trump? No.
We didn't elect a Billy Graham. We elected an Outsider Reformer Nationalist.
Besides, it all happened way before Trump was POTUS. Clinton's sex in the Oval Office happened on US Government Property and on the taxpayer's dime.

And like you, Trump's infidelity is not something that really bothers me personally. And while I don't expect his supporters to care much either, I do find it ridiculous that anyone finds infidelity to he wrong, that they can't just acknowledge that, or even more inexplicably actually defends it.

The whole point of this charade is character assassination.

I grabbed at pussy when I was young, and got the shite knocked out of me. I could give a damn about his sex life. I'm loving the tax cut, he's going to talk with asian Nukem, and he's going to talk with Putin. What more can you ask.
OK, so? Why didn’t we nominate a person of character to fight her like Rand Paul? He would have done even better than Trump and won Minnesota, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Nevada. I refused to vote for Hillary as well, but there were options besides a pussy grabber.
These failed porn stars with lawsuits? Good luck. Even if our President did them, what's new? JFK was doing Marilyn in the 60's.

wow
OK, let me post the Amendments I referenced
1st Amendment:
quote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Mention of the people, not the citizens.
3rd Amendment:
quote:
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
Mention of the owner, not the citizens.
5th Amendment:
quote:
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
And while I'm at it, lets bring up the 2nd:
quote:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
and 4th Amendments:
quote:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,[a] against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
So yeah, I guarantee the mouth breathers here would celebrate Trump shitting all over the Bill of Rights and will say to anyone rightfully pissed off as "Melt cuck! He's coming for you next!"

Incorrect. This election was a referendum on Hillary Clinton not an approval of Donald Trump. It would have been a landslide. I don't see anyway she wins the Rust Belt or Florida against Rand Paul.

And btw you bolding “people” doesn’t mean shite when it’s obvious the FFs wrote it with the citizens (the people) in mind.
It’s not the Constitution for the entire world.

You know who those rights were written for and to not acknowledge that it foolishness.
I understand the courts allowed for the language to be used to extend those rights.
I was not the purpose of the original language.
