ACB is an excellent jurist and doesn't try to legislate from the bench. Not what most people here wanted but she's doing what a great justice should do.

Not good on the economy? Tax cuts? Quiet in the Middle East? A push for less reliance on Chinese manufacturing?

He did have subpar hires, but I'm not certain he had much to choose from. As for Barrett, we cannot pass judgment for several years...unless you want to be emotional and in the moment like a leftist.

This is the problem, and why I am leaning towards moving on to someone else for 2024. Trump is good at punching back, but the day to day, and nuts and bolts part of the job, he was not effective and relied completely on the people who he was surrounded by. So in that case, being able to effectively bring in the right people was the most important part of his job.

By the way, Trump should continue to be in the picture and hopefully help start an alternative media empire. There is plenty of good Trump can still do, but DeSantis has proven to be effective at actually getting things done in a somewhat purple state, and not just talk about it.

I don't think enough people here realize that while a progressive judge only rules one way, activist, a conservative can rule one of two ways, activist in a conservative manner or originalist, which can lead to some victories for the Left.

Look, I voted for Trump in 2020. I also believe it's safe to say that the election was interfered with, whether you believe in outright ballot harvesting or simply the media hyping Covid to favor their candidate.
However, even if the democratic establishment did the former, it's incredibly dangerous to have the Supreme Court simply overturn election results, because you are setting a precedent. In short, the threat to pack the court would have been an outright certainty the next time they gained power. Biden/Harris is a bitter pill to swallow, but gaining this election by knowingly sacrificing the entire government system of checks and balances the next time around is basically pulling the plug on the entire republic for a short term gain, and the reason they risked it was because the democratic establishment knew this.

Trump would have been better off picking normal people off the street.

Did Pennsylvania have a law against counting late votes? Yes.

Did they count late votes? Yes.

Did they break the law? Yes.

Not that fricking hard to figure out.

This is never what was asked, and you are simply parroting a CNN talking point. The problem is CNN controls the narrative to even conservatives like yourself.

The case was about determining who has the right to change election laws in a state. The SC could have ruled that the states acted illegally, but the power to make any changes was always in control of the legislatures. The SC would have provided precdent and cover for the legislatures to act, to at minimum make changes in future elections.

Agree.

Sadly that ends up being unilateral disarmament. A conservative judge follows the law and the Constitution even if the outcome sucks. A prog judge rules based on the desired result no matter how much pretzel logic is required.

Normally, I'd chide you people for rejecting her for not giving you everything you want, all the time. However, I can't remember the last democrat appointment who ever went against leftist orthodoxy.

This has been the Democrat/GOPe song and dance for 20 years. The left purges its ranks of moderates and fills spots with zealot followers, but the right appoints "sensible thinkers" who are constantly, "compassionately" willing to cave to the left's agenda.

I’m going to give her the chance to provide some opinions before slamming her for not doing everything she could to overturn the election.

Do we even know if she voted on whether or not to hear them?

This may explain why the supreme court voted the way it did on the election cases. LINK

Could have just left Ruth’s dead corpse in her seat and she would have done the same thing as Amy Coney Barrett and the rest of the USSC justices.
Approximately 1/2 of SCOTUS decisions are either unanimous or decided 8-1 or 7-2.

Why? Because the law is usually that clear.

Legally, Trump did not have a leg to stand on. Deal with it, and get to work LEGISLATIVELY fixing the problems.
