How far is the Overton window going to move within the next decade?

The first election I paid attention to was 2008. I remember the Democrat candidates back then shied away from the word “liberal.” Obama and Biden ran on a campaign platform that included border security and marriage being only between a man and a woman.
Fast forward to 2026 and open communists are winning elections and having success at the polls. Being a trans advocate is part of a moderate Democrat’s platform. Where do we go from here? What happens when a significant portion of the country is operated under socialist governance?

Most normal sane people are accelerationists
There’s only one way to fix the problems we have, everyone knows what it is, but they’re afraid of it happening because women will be upset :(

We do have AOC backing away from woke 1.0, so there are some positive signs. But, the fact that she is a viable presidential candidate is concerning.

They are going to suffer for their stupidity. Which is fine. Because stupid should be painful.

I can totally understand burn it all down mode.

I'm assuming sarcasm?
if there's a 1.0, can't wait to see 2.0!

I've yet to see any evidence or reason to believe that "backing away from" in any way = disavowal.

Yeah, I only see it as ignoring this newest platform but not disavowing. And they’re doing that to protect power brokers in Congress, not because it’s what they necessarily believe. Does anyone think AOC would hesitate to campaign with Hong had she won? No

lol. No she isn't. The pols may have marched off the lunatic fringe, but the base of the party is still moderate. It is why the moderate midwestern Dems supported Trump in 2 of the last 3 elections, and have fatly rejected progressive candidates in the primaries.

What does a “moderate” Democrat stand for today? How is it much different from socialism?

How did we go from a nation where dueling was a legal way to settle minor disagreements to a nation where you go to jail for saying you don’t want a teacher injecting your kid with hormones

I’m interested to see who the United States will back in whatever wars will inevitably pop off in Europe.
Democrats will be try to lower the consent age.
How much will universal basic income be?
How much cool ranch Dorito odor is acceptable? Or will it just become standard?

The only reason she is shying away from woke is because she is going to run for President, and if elected she will run right back to the crazy

You are confusing the politicians with the party members. While the most conservative democrats in government are hard left liberals, a large section of the party members are left of center to centrists.

Are you saying union members? I suspect Hong lost the Milwaukee vote to her opponent. I’m not sure you can describe that voting group as “centrist.”

Pretty far left. Most people prefer less personal responsibility and more free shite.
