Some dork named Congressman Lloyd Doggett has a timeline of Trump's campaign promises, complete with the links to the Youtube videos and timestamps.

Does Ol'' Faithful work in this scenario... "Trump didn't say that. And if he did, he didn't mean that. And if he did, you didn't understand it. And if you did, it's not a big deal. And if it is, others have said worse."

...This nation really has to ditch its Political Savior Complex. It's like believing in the toofh fairy and the Easter bunny.Time has proven that there's no such thing as a political savior, like so many black folks thought their lives would magically become awesome after Obama was elected president. There are 10s of millions of Trump supporters who are basically the modern version of all of those African-American Obama voters. They have way more in common with each other than they realize, and they're all suckers!

And, if this doesn't apply to you and you actually voted for Trump because of X, Y and Z, then I wasn't talking about you. Just the rest of the suckers.

Damn, i can't believe he is speaking with hyperbole. He's the first politician to do that!

I've voted for him three times but I don't think i could do that again.

I wish we had Joe back, he was a good man. At least he has time to spend with his granddaughter now.

You must sell pizza, TVs or weed. Those are the only three things that are down.

Remember when Biden promised to cure cancer? I do. Compare Trump's promises kept to any other president after less than two months in office.

I think everyone knows Day 1 doesn't mean literally Day 1, but they do expect to see steps in that direction. A lot of that is lacking. Kash made Day 1 promises as well and he's not even attempted to do what he said he'd do. Lot of easy wins out there and Trump refuses to take them. Disclosure of Epstein docs, JFK docs, and stopping all aid to Ukraine are easy wins. These are easy and would be monumental at the same time.

Biggest surprise is the lack of moves for the economy. That is the biggest thing people remember from his first term. A strong economy will make people forget about a lot of stuff. DOGE is a disaster though. Elon is a giant lead weight on this administration. Keep the DOGE staff but cut Elon loose and stop treating millions of gov employees (also known as voters) like trash.

He DOES represent Austin.

I remember back when he was a state senator in the late '70s and early '80s. His senatorial district stretched from Austin to College Station. His campaign slogan (on all his signs) said "Senator Doggett works for Us!"

The largely-conservative voters in Brazos County were not so sure about that. LoL.

What is there to "explain?"

Trump was exaggerating, grandstanding and generally blowing smoke about the schedule. No sane person thought it was realistic.

Oil has plummeted. Cheaper energy will mean cheaper everything else. Sorry your side lost. If he keeps firing everyone in the swamp, I will consider him the best president of my lifetime even if he does NOTHING else.
