There is a ton of similar rhetoric coming from the bat shite insane right wingers here and I don't see you calling it to task

Is this one of those whataboutisms?

I’ve never claimed to be consistent in my habits.

I just like using people's own preferred insults back on them when appropriate

And in doing so you become just like them. In this thread even worse.

Agreed.

"Boys will be boys. Isnt it time we stop excusing bad behavior?"

You tell me what the implication is here.

That means rape to you?

It could mean a lot of things and rape could fall under that umbrella. But if the first thing that comes to your mind is "they're definitely talking about rape" then you're a little off the deep end.

Seems that's happening. Your dollar shave club reference is spot on.

It wasn't an ad though according to Gillette. It was a short film. That film is not being received well based on the dislikes.

They fricked up. You would not want your waitress to preach to you. This is similar. Maybe they will eventually learn.

They can call it what they want. It's an ad.

Gillette knew what they were doing and I'm sure they think they can weather any back lash. I just watched video? WTF is all the whining about. I thought it was well done.

Powerman, you're still avoiding my question. What if the message of the commercial was "blacks can do better" after 30 seconds of negative stereotypes?

It was written by women like you. You are expected to soil your panties over it.

It's just a bit surprising that the company felt it was ok to generalize as they did

I don't feel it was offensive necessarily, just really stupid. It reinforces the idea that there is something inherently wrong that needs reigned in.

Day 2 and there is a 7 page thread.

Vote with your wallet.

Have some dignity as a man, and move the frick on.

I always thought that a fundamental aspect of being a man, was the refusal to sweat stupid shite.

The Gillette commercial has zero effect on your life, nor mine.

Whiny shite like this thread is more telling as far as how masculinity is in decline.

Feminists describe all possible male sexual misbehavior as rape. I'm just using it in their context.

I can't imagine it would go over very well in today's political climate but if someone wanted to make that commercial to send a message to struggling black communities that's their choice.

Would you remain consistent and call anyone who criticizes that decision a triggered pussy?

I don’t know. Is it rough housing in the backyard? Is it bullying each other over text messages? Girls are a hell of a lot worse at the later. So long as they’re not actually intimidating and beating the hell out of each other if they’re rough housing? That didn’t look like an actual fight by the grill.

I mean, Jesus Christ, boys form gangs in first and second grade that quickly dissipate once they’re remotely interested in girls. My two best friends from elementary schools were in rival gangs and we became best friends in the second half of elementary school, and they’re still my best friends today. It’s healthy to let boys work together and against one another so they know how the real world works. Seriously, in our playground fights, the worst thing that happened to me is I got my wind knocked out twice. Who gives a shite?

I didn't ask if it was their choice. I asked if you would consider it a "positive message" and wonder why anyone would be upset over it.

I did not see the commercial but the evening news had them rebuking the sentiment that was felt by men from that commercial. They were hot and heavy trying to down play it.
