I don't get it. I am actually envious of LA for Kennedy and wish we had a Senator like him. I am in a different state obviously, and probably don't know him as well, but he has charm and is always on the right side it seems.

And not counting all the time spent getting his son out of trouble, such as when he shattered a friend of mine’s jaw in a soccer game with a running punch.
Go on...

Episcopal and U High had a soccer game in which Dakota Roemer was one ornthr U High players. At some point during the contest, Roemer sprints across the field and lays a jaw punch on an Episcopal player, shattering his jaw in the process.
Dakota’s response after the fact was claiming the Episcoalpal player was fouling a friend of his, which somehow warranted battery as a response.
IIRC, charges weren’t filed only because of a lawsuit settled in which they paid to repair B’s jaw. I’m unaware if other compensation was in there as well.

You do see the irony of a poster going by HubbaBubba claiming that someone else comes off as a rube...right?
As state above, he is no rube:

Kennedy is a brilliant guy.
He plays Foghorn Leghorn for the TV cameras.

Last I heard of him, he was sitting at Barnes And Noble all day every day talking with whoever would show up.
Or having lunch at Digiulio’s every Friday.

Kennedy is a shrewd politician. He leans into the bumpkin persona, so don’t let his accent fool you.
Leans into a bit too much.
Not saying he's not highly intelligent and effective.
Can dial back the bumpkin bit a skosh.
But then you guys probably hate my no accent accent.
btw-He's not nearly as bad as the Boston accent someone mentioned.

So great a civil code that not another state in the country uses it!

1-luck! He has been extremely effective counterpunching against the DNC/MSM Political Complex. You underestimate him.
2-vote. Louisiana likes colorful politicians.
Effectiveness is the result of statesmanship. But statesmen come clothed in many ways including pompous, dignified, unassuming, loud, or colorful.
Your main problem is allowing the prejudice of others to shame you into acting as they desire you too. The bi-coastals already think we are deplorables who cling to our God and guns, are homophobic, misogynistic, racist. They think we are stupid, uneducated, unsophisticated boobs. Why be concerned about their misguided beliefs?
F ‘em. Do what you want, think what you want, say what you want, and vote how you want.

Just because you were a powerful person in the Senate doesn’t mean that you’re necessarily a good senator.

I suppose we could be more like Texas and elect some caveman to shout "Impeachment" every day, or a SJ Lee to talk about how she likes oatmeal essentially. Or we could be like Cali and have us some Chinese Spying or a Mad Max or denture spitter or bug eyed index card reader. Could have elected a star spangled rhinestone cowgirl like FL. or an island tipper, a Mars flag planting person, or we could have more frozen cash in a home freezer, maybe a men's room toe tapper,...
