I don't know about Ro, but Massie voted no. Which is what we wanted in this case. Massie is on the right side of this.

357 members should be voted out.

That's a lot of words to say that I was correct in that they didn't vote to block it.

"Blocking it" wasn't an option here. The options were: vote yes and it goes to ethics to die; vote no and it goes to a floor vote. There was no option that just killed the bill so they voted for the next best thing. Send it to ethics to be buried.

It doesn't matter though because oversight is subpoena'ing the records themselves and they will still be exposed.

They sent the bill to die in ethics rather than sending it to the floor for a vote. These people are frickin cowards. They didn't want to be on record voting against passage of the bill so they pulled the procedural equivalent of euthanasia. This isn't a good thing by any stretch.

Corrupt bastards. It's almost like they know they're above the law. Go figure.

Anna Paulina was saying they would try to subpoena the records. I'm skeptical, but I pray that those efforts will be successful.

The slush fund isn’t privately funded it’s taxpayer money.

Their motion to subpoena the records passed. It's happening.

Congress has apparently paid out $17mil in settlements in these instances.

It has to be higher. There is a slush fund solely for this purpose. Disgusting.

Woe is me - I guess we'll never learn if there was a repeat of the infamous Ted Kennedy / Chris Dodd Waitress Sandwich.

Alcoholism is a terrible thing - but only if you're NOT a prominent democrat senator.

What a mess.

I don't understand why you need an act of congress to release this information. Trump should just issue an executive order, similar to the Epstein files, and let it out. Maybe I'm oversimplifying this though...

Mike Johnson was Kevin McCarthy's right-hand man. Very little changed when the transition from McCarthy to Johnson.
