You are wrong. OT is taxed in the same manner as regular wages.

Keep seething, tho.

You are seething over the withholding not the final tax liability.

Pro tip: withholding does not equal tax liability.

Why do Democrats hate service industry workers, senior citizens and blue collar workers?

Why? Because the Dim party has morphed into the party of the Cultural Marxist Elites, (credential class, those in the Hollywood/mass media industry, government workers, Woke Technocrats, DC Globalists, etc.) The America First/MAGA movement is the home of average working class people.

exactly..

the employer's Payroll software taxes each paycheck based on that being the the same check for 52 weeks (if you get paid weekly) or 26 checks (if you are paid bi-weekly). IE if you gross $1500 because of OT it taxes you thinking you will make $78,000 for the year. even if every other check is $1200 without OT. At the end of the year you total earning of $62,900 will determine you tax liability

when you file taxes at the end of the year you and now taking your total pay for the year and matching the corresponding tax liability table for your filing status

Why do you hate it?

You are carving out income for a certain subset of taxpayers but not all taxpayers.

You are leaving out the people who pay the majority of your taxes, the list is long.

The people residing in this group since Obama have only paid double the medical expense since Obama care and now get zero relief in tax while the entire blue collar community gets a handout.

Now, I think its because they are still trying to creat two classes but they are going to start class warfare unlike anything you could ever imagine with this.

Everyone feels slighted and the people who paid more in tax have more of a right to complain about not getting any relief.

Its really that simple.

I thought as republicans we wanted to lower the national debt, curb handouts etc. This isnt that.

All this is, is a way to mask all the jobs they just got rid of in the government. This would free up the cash to be spent in the economy to offset the firings.

Its bullshite.

I never said anything about taxes. My statement wasn't about taxes, it was about people not working OT. Work on your reading comprehension.

Why?

Because earned income is earned income. Beyond naked pandering, I have yet to hear a single reason why tips or overtime shouldn't be taxed as income.

IMO whether you support or not support proposed legislation should hinge on the following:

1. Does it make fedgov bigger or smaller?
2. Does it make fedgov more or less monied?
3. Does it make fedgov more or less powerful?

Granted, it's not a direct line between dots but any sort of tax relief, on balance, is on the right side of those measures.

Couldn't disagree with that premise more.

Carve outs in income tax is not the solution.

We should all be taxed for our work the same. No one should get special treatment. Income is income.

So someone that works 12 hrs a day, 84 hrs a week, 350 days a year is the same as someone that works 40 hrs a week?

So what?

My candidate for POTUS did too. In fact, it was his idea.

I like a whole lot of things he's doing and would vote for him 100 times out of 100 if I had to do it over again, but this particular populist nonsense is foolish.

And again, you pointed out the best litmus test of all. If a Democrat will make it part of the agenda, you know it's a steaming pile of a policy.

Tax laws are laws.

Should we be treated the same under the law?

A couple of Constitutional Amendments say we should.

Your pablum couldn't be more populist.

You know what determines whether something or someone is liberal or conservative?

The actual policies they support.

Not their tone.
