Child porn and threats of violence absolutely need to be monitored online
Taking phones out of schools would probably be a huge net positive
Cyber bullying, trafficking, enticing minors for hookups, the pedo rings, all kinds of stuff that they need to close down.
But I stand against creating new agencies to do it. And I don't trust the existing agencies that are most likely the ones to do it.
And there's the censorship/free speech issues there too.
Lose control. She said her main interest out loud.

She says child porn and threats of violence.
2 things that are already illegal and the government can subpoena, investigate, and prosecute. The only role for Social media is to cooperate.
What she really means is “misinformation “. Since that’s largely out of reach of government.
She’s intentionally disguising her goal as righteous.
That’s where “control” becomes an issue with misinformation - not child porn.

That’s what this is all about. Total control. If they could figure out a way to put total control into an express lane and have us all hemmed up like the Chinese or North Korea, we’d all be fricked tomorrow.

Where are all the cool and edgy moderates at? It's hilarious to watch those who've always claimed to rage against the machine suddenly become the machine.

Define “threats of violence.”
You do understand this is the same crew that called words violence, and wearing a red hat threatening, right?

This is a ruse on her part.

Think about how horrific this statement is.
Well at least she isn't in any position of power like say the Supreme Court.

So my biggest concern is that your view has the First Amendment hamstringing the government in significant ways in the most important time periods.

I will add in that kids without phones cannot call in emergencies, such as active shooters at the school.
Then put phones in all classrooms and in hallways. Also cameras in classrooms and hallways.
Phones in schools are doing way more harm than the number of emergencies.

I'm in agreement. And I like and encourage this discussion.
While I really like the ideas of cameras, it would help Leo, pinpoint and see what's going on in emergency situations.
I know that there's areas and schools that would fight it. They don't want people to know what their blue haired teachers are doing, and what's going on.
So we'd need to make it so they have no choice in the matter.
Even just panic buttons, that tie to 911 or emergency centers, would be a good start.

I must have been in a coma during the election where we voted to put her "in control".

Tasseo, I'll go back and edit my post. I was taking more about Dims not wanting to protect the kids in the schools.

Can’t be exposing all the Marxists in the schools.

If you filter away the rest of her word salad, this gets to the crux of the matter for the political elites.
It’s always about control. Their control.

The Democrats like King George III hate free speech because it challenges their control of power!
England still doesn’t have free speech and we will never again if the Democrats win this issue.

Imagine what these "people" would do if we didn't have the 1st and 2nd amendments

Have to be OFF and remain in book bags all day at our schools. They police it, too.

Wall St. Journal EIC Emma Tucker lamented this loss of control over 'the facts'

If they take down Elon, we are screwed. Hopefully, he is tied into the MIC enough that they leave him alone.
At this juncture in time, Starlink has surpassed or equalled the communication capabilities of the government, and NASA would be bent over a barrel without Musk. At least for the time being I believe he's too valuable to be considered disposable.
I'm sure they're just counting the days though, and seeking avenues to seize and any all technology and intellectual property they can from him. Elon might just be the most powerful and dangerous individual in America right now.

So we'd need to add in ways for the students and faculty to still be able to contact emergency services.
Dumb phones. Phones that only work as actual phones. Only receive and take calls. Already seen some pushed to make this happen in my area. Hundred percent behind this.
