re: High-level corporate leaders are pushing President Trump to sign a bipartisan mass amnesty

No amnesty but I would be fine with a regulated guest worker program. They pay into Social Security but don’t collect and get no access to public assistance benefits. If they aren’t actively working they are deported. There are ways to access agricultural labor without giving citizenship.

This has always been the way, but they pushed the "Illegals are evil" stuff so much it's just too emotional for too many MAGA/AF types.
This is exactly what led me to tell NC about the visceral reaction these types of proposals has amongst that cohort.

Having 2-3 seasons of ag production completely derailed is a major issue.

I heard it and hoped somebody would start a thread. Charlie's Sources are solid and the heat is on. Between this and Epstein, unless Trump fixes both in short order, Elon's American Party will get a lot bigger. Of course, Elon may be on board with the Amnesty; at least for those who will work for their part of the societal costs.

This would be the thing that would end Trump
First I dont think he will do that.
But this plus epstein would be the end of the MAGA movement.
It would be the biggest betrayal in recent modern American political history.

Blame Biden boarded policy not Trump. He has a mandate on this. He would not grant amnesty.

And the solution is Amnesty?
Just tell them we wont ICE raid their farms or update the seasons worker visa system...

The writing is on the wall that he's going to do something to protect illegals working in certain industries. Amnesty, work permits, etc.

You’re gonna get DV’d to hell for this, but I had a buddy over for our 4th cookout who is a Cpl.
Dude basically said the ICE shite has become a clusterfk & it’s 20% disorganization / poorly coordinating agencies, 80% Miller.
Sometimes they meet their daily quota by eating out at a Mexican restaurant lol.

Amnesty for some in specific circumstances sure. Amensty for all seems like a mess and fails all those who followed the system properly.
I'd prefer we make some dramatic changes to the system clarifying some of these statuses more, defining more safe third countries, and streamlining the process as much as possible while keeping it pretty strict on getting. Once you fix the broken system amnesty makes more sense other wise we're gonna repeat this cycle again and again.

No the solution has always been a regulated guest worker program.

That's similar to what I'm saying above, and amnesty, but worse.

I have no issue with giving them amnesty from further prosecution after they go home and properly apply for visa’s.

I love all these dingbats predicting what Trump will do.
They should know better by now...especially you.

I think this is dramatic.
Trump isn't stupid.
It would be INCREDIBLY painful to attack illegals in places like ag. This isn't just "economy will go into recession" stuff. This is "national security is at risk" stuff.
Trump has been pushing this for at least 3 weeks. I've been following it.
He came out in favor of it, then backtracked after getting a negative response. Then after the BBB, he came back out in full support of it.
The women he is listening to is big on amnesty. I forget her name, he mentions her in the BBB celebration video.

That depends on how you see the issue. I'm not implying it as "doom and gloom" but I imagine some emotional types may take it that way
