That was the move that made it appear close. Tens of thousands of GOP voters in Western Florida went home instead of voting, believing the POTUS had been won by Gore due to an early call by the MSM (Lying Media).

Their bag of tricks is very deep. Until prosecutions begin, the bag gets deeper.

What happened in the Clinton years was that Alan Greenspan ran interest rates WAY TOO LOW for way too long while muttering about irrational exuberance. The stock market soared, capital gains taxes soared, the economy looked much healthier than it was because of the wealth effect of a market/dotcom bubble (that was before our monetary inflation broadly escaped from the realm of financial assets and started flowing directly into the prices of goods and services).

What we ended up with very shortly thereafter was a market crash, which would've been contained in a more reasonably priced context but instead required years of near ZIRP and set the stage for the housing bubble, the folly of Ben Bernanke and quantitative easing. And that's how we went bankrupt.
