That's only partially on him. If people aren't interested in working with you it doesn't matter how talented you are at politics, and most of DC not only weren't interested in working with him they were actively working against him.
Most folks who opposed Trump in 2016 recognized this in him. I was hopeful that it was an act, leftover from his days in the WWE or on reality TV. I even said that I hoped he would prove me wrong about that. He did the opposite.
You can't spend four years telling everyone who disagrees with you to frick off, then play victim because they didn't want to work with you.

Uh yeah? My point exactly?
Sometimes having an effective politician is a good thing.
But you're implying that it was possible for him to be effective. He could have been Slick Willy himself; if the entire beltway is against you they don't CARE about your political skills. They're just going to oppose you no matter what. We saw what happened when they wanted to work with him; we got justices approved.
I'm not arguing that he couldn't have been more effective, but I am saying there was a ceiling even had he been perfect. I'm no historian but no president in modern history, say post WWII, has faced the deliberate opposition and sabotage he faced. That's going to have an impact regardless of political acumen.

I understand basic Econ.
YOU don’t get Trump or why he does things.
Not saying I’m fully onboard or agree, but I do get it.

AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA! The folks backing the Ronster need to be out in front of this. I'm sure it will help his cause exponentially.
PS: Y'all need to add Mitt in there. Maybe Kellyanne's fat husband, Bill Kristol, Chris Christie, Liz Cheney, and any of the other fruits from the Lincoln Project you could fit.

100% of that was Donald Trump.
Yes, because everybody knows that politics are unilateral. If you're good enough the'll just all suck your dick, the dems will vote for smaller government and reduced regulation, etc etc etc. If that doesn't happen it's all one person's fault and nobody else's.

The media was going to go after him no matter what he did. Remember he was racist for shutting down travel, but Biden wasn’t. So it really didn’t matter what he did.
This is amazing logic.
Trump was going to be crucified by the Left/media no matter what he did, so it was okay that he bent the knee to them?
That makes no sense.
Yes, Trump was going to be crucified in the press no matter what he did, but that should have made it easier for him to what was right - to STFU Fauci, and lead the country through the pandemic like an adult.

Solid argument, dumbass.
First, what difference would it make? Do you think I'm DT or RD, or a member of Congress?
Second, you would be wrong. I was never, not for one minute, a Covidian. And there were a lot of us, by the way. Even on this board there were more than a handful of posters that never bought into the Covid insanity and saw it for what it was.

So you vote for the guy who said he was going to make it worse? How does that make any sense?
That wouldn't make any sense, which is why I didn't do that.
I voted Trump. Bigly. And will again in 2024 if he's the nominee. I'll donate to his campaign and make sure everyone in my circle votes. I think Trump is flawed, but he's lightyears better than any alternative at that point.
By the way, I have questions about DeSantis. They're all fair and should be debated. That's how this works.
My posts are about Trumpfags, and there is a shite ton of them around here that are like little girls at any sort of criticism of DT. Moreover, it's delusion to not have some serious f'n questions about a Trump 2nd term. Can he get the job done? What part of his first term makes you think he has the will/discipline to dismember DOJ/FBI? That's a serious f'n question, but here we are worried about who Ron DeSantis accepts donations from (as if Trump doesn't accept donations from the same people).
That's why it's comical to see everyone with their panties in a bunch about DeSantis possibly being "GOPe" while utterly blind to how "establishment" Trump was. He f'n grew the federal government, appointed teams of deep staters (Chris Wray is on Trump, folks) and then turned an awesome economy on its head because he was too weak to beat back the retardation coming from his opponents. What good is it to have super awesome anti-deep state rhetoric when you turn around and take the knee when the deep state comes calling? frick that. There's nothing unreasonable about having higher expectations of a president than to sell the country down the river because he was hoping to be treated fairly by a press that never would.

I like how you craft your narrative to make it Trump's fault. Quit being feeble minded.
Do you find it coincidental that they were BFF with Trump before he opted to run for POTUS? Then magically, he was the devil. That forced his hand.
