Funny quote… but Paul addresses this if you actually read the scriptures being mocked.

I wasn't thinking about people here necessarily but about all those outraged out there in the big wide world of social media.
The bandwidth is over saturated with this today.

See, that's just an odd thing to say. Regardless of who I'm with?
What does that even mean in the context of an anonymous message board?
You seem angry, but I'm not trying to provoke you. I genuinely didn't understand what you were trying to communicate, just like I genuinely don't understand what that line means.

So you're quoting that passage to excuse Trump for what is at worst blasphemy and at best an ego problem that is even bigger and worse than most thought? I think that's what you're saying, although I could still be wrong.
O.k.
Well, first, you understand that that passage is one of the few texts that still appears in most versions of the Book that is pretty much universally regarded by conservative and liberal scholars alike to NOT have been written by the original author, right? Based on the oldest manuscripts we have, the conclusion is that it was added later. Some Bibles don't even have that text, and most of the rest have it, but with a disclaimer.
Second, it sounds like you interpret that passage as meaning that no one is ever allowed to question or call anyone out for sin. Given the context of the entire Bible, we know that is not true.
Third, there's a big difference between criticizing someone as a fellow Christian (which Trump is not, by his own words) and criticizing someone as an elected official.
My conclusion about the picture is that it is most concerning simply because of how bizarre it was. I'm not offended as a Christian...the Roman soldiers did much worse to mock Christ. I'm troubled as a voter.
Trump's getting out there with his self-worship.

I always love it when Godless atheist homosexuals try to wax poetic about Christianity.

You're clearly not WITH Trump!
I'm not as strong of a Bible scholar as you appear to be, so believe what you will about that passage.
I'll stick to my own belief that I shouldn't judge someone else's actions or intent without examining my own. He's human just as I am. And some people are just too easily offended. I will not cast a stone!

You understand there is a difference in condemning the action and not the person, correct?
Trump should repent, we should encourage that and indignation for that tweet can be righteous.

Eh, I was 17. I was punk rock in many ways....and I proved my point with them not publishing it and then lying about it. That's what really matters.

If your point was that the school wouldn't let you post something that was anti-religious, then you proved their point as well.
And a high school quote has never mattered.

It was a public school and that was illegal. But their lies were the bigger victory for me.

It mattered enough for them to break the law and then lie about it.
