Case Count Approaches New High

86% of 12 and Up Have at Least One Dose

quote:

So far, more than 49 million people have had a first vaccine dose - about 86% of over-12s. More than 45 million - about 79% of over-12s - have had both doses.

Why are we still doing this?

It doesn’t matter if they ain’t dying at the same rate as before. Case counts don’t matter.

I believe that’s what was being blamed. Perhaps the vaccine is putting evolutionary pressure on the virus to mutate into more virulent forms?

Have you looked at their death numbers?

Their positive tests are significantly up, their deaths are not up. They are flat which shows the efficacy of the vaccine to prevent death.

Or perhaps the therapeutics have helped, the virus has become less deadly, and all the low hanging fruit is dead already?

That’s definitely a factor, but using a case count on a mucosal RNA virus to infer the vaccine isn’t working is incorrect.

The deaths are not following the case numbers like they did in the previous surges and the primary difference is the prevalence of the vaccine.

Which is great for individuals who are more susceptible to hospitalization and death from COVID, but it doesn't speak to the ability to spread the virus, which is the primary reason for mandates right now.

No doubt. I didn’t mention, nor promote vaccine mandates.

They’re wrong, and if they push this on children, we will likely discover they killed more kids with the vaccine than from the virus. That’s not inferring the vaccine kills a lot of people, it’s just the virus simply doesn’t kill healthy kids.

But that doesn’t make the vaccine wrong. It is very helpful to protect people of all ages with preexisting conditions and the elderly from dying from this virus.

As to others, you’re better off living your life and dealing with the virus using your natural immunity.

CFR was about 3% last winter and if the NYT numbers are to be believed it's currently running about 0.2%.

A combination of factors is likely driving that...
prior exposure, resilience, mutation, vaccination, etc.

Anyone claiming it is one or another is merely spit balling.

What is the per 100/k infection rate of Vaxed vs unvaxed?

Was it Israel a few weeks back that was showing the vaxed with a higher contamination?

Because they are vaccinating the majority of the population in the middle of a pandemic against only one antigen of a bug that evolves at ease.
