By your same flawed logic God wants child rapists to be free. Murders who were never caught to be free. Sure Jan.

Cannot have it both ways. If God is omniscient and omnipotent, everything good and bad is within His control.

Not having it both ways. I believe in free will. Evidently you don't.

I believe in free will, but I also believe God knows all and can intervene.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come, thy Will be done; on earth as it is in heaven
Believing in free will does not contradict the will of God.

quote:I repeat: all people, including you and me, deserve this fate.
This is an example of your immorality that you think babies deserve to be violently killed and “eternal judgement” which presumably is eternal conscious torment.
God forgives those who repent and trust in obedience of Jesus in His life and death.
quote:It's not just using the terms, but how they are supposed to be used according to biblical theology, which you are claiming you have a problem with.
That was my fault. I have to remember to use your own terms or you’ll have a fit. But to me, the unfair and unjustified violent killing of another human in violation of their free will is murder. I get it though. You think the action performed - if evil - is actually “good” if your deity does it or commands it. It’s a double standard.
And no, it isn't calling an evil act good just because God does it. What makes an act evil is God's commandment, based on His on holy character. It's why I made a point of talking about the difference between lawful killing and unlawful killing. Not all killing is "murder", and the circumstances matter. There is no double standard. You just don't understand the concept, or you are purposefully distorting it.
quote:I hope not, but you are rather stubborn in your willful ignorance and rejection of the truth, so I might have to explain it to you yet again.
Foo, come on. Do we have to do this again?
quote:Another example of your lack of basic comprehension of grammar. You do this a lot, so I'm not surprised.
He creates evil, and he does evil. And evil in this case (Hebrew “Ra”) literally and contextually means “evil”.
In that verse, the "doing" refers to what He just said: forming light, creating darkness, making peace, and creating evil ("calamity" is a better translation of the Hebrew). It's not another category beyond what He just said.
quote:Nope, that's not how it works.
So context matters? If context matters, then your morality is subjective.
I explained this already. I know you struggle with basic things like this, so try to keep up:
Murder is objectively immoral and that doesn't change. What constitutes "murder" is based off of lawful vs. unlawful taking of life. Not all taking of life is murder, but just because the application of murder varies, it doesn't mean murder is not objectively immoral, or that it's a subjective standard.
God still defines the definitions, so it's still objective. Subjective would be if the standard changed based on the subject (humans), not the object (God and His standard).
quote:1) I don't care what you have to say about morality because, by your own admission as an atheist, you have no objective standard to use, and therefore your judgements are nothing more than your opinions. I don't care about your opinions.
Dude, you’re simply a moral monster if you support the violent stoning to death of Achan’s children for something their father did. Thank God that shite never really happened, and that story is just a mythical tale.
2) God is the one who commanded the killing, and He's able to do that because He is the one who controls when and how we die. No one deserves to live because all sin against God, so it's not worse for God to command women and children killed than it is for them to die of cancer or by tripping and falling off a high cliff. God ultimately controls life and death.
3) You still aren't grasping the concept of representative guilt and innocence for sin. I've tried to explain it to you several times, so it seems that you are incapable of understanding it.
quote:No, and I explained why.
Although it is not a command, if we are to use the example of God’s “objective morality” and “loving nature”, then stoning to death the kids of a thief should be morally permitted and carried out.
I'm taking the time to respond to you in great detail. Why are you ignoring what I'm writing? I already explained the difference between command and example.
quote:I'm not making any false accusation against you. I support everything I say. I explained exactly why you don't consider the difference between proof/evidence and persuasion. You are not persuaded by the many evidences for God's existence, and because of that, you claim there isn't evidence at all. I was just explaining to you the difference between having evidence for something and being convinced that the evidence says what one claims it says. I used the example of the existence of Jesus as a historical figure as an example. Most atheists concede He existed in history due to the abundant evidence, even though you reject it.
Sure, but when you levy a false accusation against me and you are guilty of the very thing you accuse me of, then that is projection, and it’s something you often do. I hope you can one day become cognizant and aware of your folly so you can improve yourself and be a better person.
So no, it's not projection. You show time and time again that you don't know what words like that mean.

You are sick and depraved to say that babies deserve eternal conscious torment. You’re an unreasonable person who promotes unfairness and injustice based on your own psychotic delusions. I sincerely hope you get the help you need.

2) I am not unreasonable. I actually have a basis for reason, itself. You, on the other hand, are clearly unreasonable, because you can't even accept the historical reality of the existence of Jesus, when the vast majority of your skeptical atheist intellectuals can even admit that. You are the unreasonable one.
3) The only fairness that exists is God's justice, which you will receive for eternity if you do not repent of your sins and believe in Jesus for forgiveness.

quote:
If God is sovereign, then everything that happens is God's will.
The classic question that takes us back to the Calvinism vs Arminianism debate. An all knowing God either allows things to happen as a product of Free Will (knowing what the outcome will be and allowing those things to happen), or he has a plan that includes all of these things that he has completely created because they ultimately will go to His glory.
Both believe in the sovereignty of God, but that it reveals itself in different ways.

I’d bet the consensus of regular folks would be that if you say babies deserve to be tortured for eternity, most regular folks would say you are depraved and sick in the head.

Well no you see you are confused because you are convinced you live in a false reality due to psychotic delusions.
quote:
You, on the other hand, are clearly unreasonable, because you can't even accept the historical reality of the existence of Jesus
It’s called euhemerization. It’s a process by which a deity is given a fictive story and set as a historical human. Other deities you may know of that were euhermized include…
• Indra
• Yama
• The Ribhus
• Tammuz
• Baal Melqart
• Osiris
• Zeus
• Uranus
• Cronus
• Odin
• Freyr
• Baldr
• Lugh
• The Dagda
• Morrigan
Euhemerus was a Macedonian Greek who argued Zeus was a real historical human king.
quote:
when the vast majority of your skeptical atheist intellectuals can even admit that. You are the unreasonable one.
No it’s not that. You’re confused because you don’t know what it’s like to take an unbiased look at evidence and reach a conclusion based on the facts rather than clinging to a dogmatic position. Look, it is plausible that maybe some bits of the Jesus myth came real a real historical man - maybe an apocalyptic rabbi even - but that isn’t the basis for the religion. The fact is that there were sects of Jews - like the one Philo of Alexandria belonged to and the Essenes / Qumran community - that were already worshipping the “deutero theos”, firstborn of creation, who made the universe, who was the heavenly high priest on the order of Melchizedek, the messiah, the Logos, the angel of Yahweh, the mediator between God and man… before the first story of the Jesus on earth was ever ginned up.
How powerful would it have been for Paul to write the Romans that Jesus said render to Caesar what is Caesar’s? He didn’t. He didn’t because that story hadn’t been invented yet. The gospel author used Paul’s letter as the basis for the story.
Paul has to make this big argument to the Corinthians about clean and unclean food and letting their conscience dictate what to eat or not eat. A more powerful argument would have been Paul writing, “well the son of God said ‘Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?’” But that story also hadn’t been invented yet.
Paul tried to claim he was an apostle just as much as Kepha and James. “Have I not seen the Lord??” Remember that? Paul constantly had to defend his credentials in his epistles. He never once had to respond to any accusations like “you just saw Jesus in a vision but Peter and James actually ate with and talked with the real Jesus when he was a man.” It’s because those stories hadn’t yet been invented when Paul was alive.
And then look at the gospels. The later three all copied from and used Mark as a source. They copy and paste straight out of Mark, and that’s an indisputable fact. Take Mark and look at the stories written about Jesus - every single one is an allegorical retelling of something in the Old Testament. Of Elijah and Elisha feeding a mass of people or raising a kid from the dead. Of Jonah in the fish. Of Moses. Of the ritual of the day of atonement where two identical goats were selected by casting lots and one was released while the other was sacrificed as Yahweh. You think it’s coincidence Barabbas’ first name was “Jesus”?
It’s all myth, including the Jesus on earth. It’s midrash.
And then your holy fables of 1/2 John and 2 Peter were canonized as an excuse to persecute and get rid of the more original Christians who said “Jesus didn’t actually come to earth yet, wtf are you talking about?” And “guys you’re following cleverly devised myths - none of that shite happened - you got duped by the allegorical tale into thinking those were historical events”.
quote:
The only fairness that exists is God's justice, which you will receive for eternity if you do not repent of your sins and believe in Jesus for forgiveness.
That’s simply a baseless and stupid assertion without any evidence to back it up. I shite on your baseless assertions.

quote:Maybe they would, but because you still don't understand the difference between subjective and objective standards, you make this statement as if it matters to me.
I’d bet the consensus of regular folks would be that if you say babies deserve to be tortured for eternity, most regular folks would say you are depraved and sick in the head.
In your perverse and irrational worldview, morality is nothing more than mere opinion because of its subjective nature. Therefore, whether it is one person or all persons saying something is immoral, it doesn't change the fact that it doesn't mean that thing is actually (objectively) immoral. It just means that a lot of people prefer one flavor of ice cream over another.
quote:I don't think you understand the difference between a religious belief and a psychotic delusion, but I've come to expect that from you. You have just enough knowledge of things to make yourself sound credible, but not enough knowledge to really know what you're talking about.
Well no you see you are confused because you are convinced you live in a false reality due to psychotic delusions.
quote:Ah, I see. You have given a name to your rejection of history that most other atheists even accept.
It’s called euhemerization. It’s a process by which a deity is given a fictive story and set as a historical human
You're closer to being described as having psychotic delusions than I am. At least there is historical evidence for Jesus
quote:And all those other atheists that accept that the evidence points to Jesus are mistaken? You and like a dozen other people are on the right side, understanding without bias. Got it
No it’s not that. You’re confused because you don’t know what it’s like to take an unbiased look at evidence and reach a conclusion based on the facts rather than clinging to a dogmatic position.
You come on this board every day finding posts about Christianity to insert yourself into in order to contradict it. To claim you lack bias on this subject is absolutely absurd, but that's par for the course for you. You have an irrational worldview.
quote:It's based on the Bible as evidence. You can reject it, but it's not baseless.
That’s simply a baseless and stupid assertion without any evidence to back it up. I shite on your baseless assertions.

All I am saying is this...if you have ever looked at some horrible occurrence (on a small or large scale) and said, "I dont understand why this happened, but I trust God and His plan." then you have to be open to that possibility here.

Maybe so....and maybe that was how God wanted it to go. I guess we will see. But once again, if God is Omnipotent and Omniscient and allows humans to do horrible things He knows they will do without intervening....that is His will.
