All the lefty libs I know already believed this... that prices are only high because of greedy corporations... and Putin.

Price controls on one side and rampant theft on the other. Then they'll call it racism when people no longer have grocery stores.

Federal price controls? Natural disaster or wartime?

But who "on the middle" would be dumb enough to buy this nonsense?

It’s a great idea by Harris. Venezuela implemented price controls and the stores still can’t keep up with demand and have empty shelves. People had so much money I saw videos of them burning piles of cash in celebration

Harris..... Take ur socialist ideas and stick em your arse! How about less government and more free enterprise. Change regulations so it's easier for Americans to open and operate businesses here, in America.
People are stupid if they fall for this shite.

People capable of falling for leftist economic ideas are people who cannot comprehend economics beyond the concept of buy/sell. Food is a razor-thin profit margin across all industries (except for Michelin-tier places where it's more of an artistic experience that can charge for just that). When McD's raise their prices, it's not about a single store trying to break positive for the day

To be fair, Trump is proposing across the board tariffs. Both ideas are economically foolish.
For example that 10% tariff will impact the following top-5 trading partners the most (in order based on exports): Mexico, China, Canada, Germany, Japan.
For all but Japan we have some significant diplomatic issues with.
For all but Canada we have at least a trillion dollar trade deficit.
And that's one significant difference from Trump and other presidents, he uses tariffs as a diplomatic tool, not just economic. It's simple carrot and stick diplomacy. Especially China and Mexico....
... which is where our manufacturing is going. And he's offering tariff relief if the manufacturing is brought back to the US (which I do smirk at- no shite? it isn't imported).
Another thing he has done in the past is turn the revenues collected back on that industry through the treasury. For example, tariffs collected on beans w/China were added to farming subsidies, meaning that tariff is much less a "tax" because it did not stay in gov't coffers. To be fair, I have seen no such reports of doing this in this next term but can't really trust reporting and it wasn't widely reported in his first term either. You had to get into Manuchin's treasury reports to find it.

A short article about the Nixon disaster with price controls. Can't believe somebody is dumb enough to try this again.
She's not actually going to try it. All she is doing is throwing out unrealistic "fixes" to all of the negatives of the last four years knowing that (a) there are MILLIONS of Americans who have literally zero idea how pricing works and genuinely believe the only reason peanut butter is $2.00 more expensive is because the CEO of Skippy wants a new beach house, and (b) the media won't challenge any aspect of the clearly stupid plan. In fact, they won't just not challenge it. They'll gleefully support it...knowing it will NEVER actually be put into place.
Such is the advantage of being the Democrat nominee. You can literally put forth the dumbest policy imaginable secure in the knowledge the media will support it.

I mean, the "middle" isn't going to be posting on pol twitter on Thursday morning in August
The middle doesn't actually exist in they way you imply, fwiw. Vast majority on both sides are single issue voters who pick a side in that one issue, and then allow that baseline reflex to determine their other views so long as it sounds good.
We are all out of touch with the normieverse when it comes to politics.

Major producers and retailers, as well as everyone else in the supply chain, are engaged in mass layoffs and depressed revenue because of the Biden Harris economy. So naturally, forcing them to sell their products and services at a loss is going to fix the problem!

Ok, but that has nothing to do with the post I responded to and the person you posted about is clearly not anywhere near any kind of middle ground.
