Just to add to this, State department just announced $157M I'm humanitarian assistance for Lebanon while we are still funding the Israeli missiles that are causing the need for humanitarian assistance there.
It's a shame that no one in Congress or the executive branch thought about reallocation that funding from State to FEMA for humanitarian assistance, ya know, HERE.

I was stationed at Ft. Bragg when Andrew hit Florida. I want to say it was a day or two later they said “Grab your gear” and my unit headed to Florida.
I know Ft.Bragg has the capability to help in a big way. I also know they sent a brigade of troops down there almost immediately.
Bragg is uniquely equipped to help and they are right there.
