Went to the gun store yesterday to buy shotgun shells. I have seen shorter lines at amusement parks. People are starting to grab up guns, ammo, high capacity mags, etc.
Same here. And this tells me Americans are not in favor of gun control. I don’t give a shite about what surveys say. Money talks.

"Long gun" is acceptable terminology to exclude handguns. Long gun usually means rifles and shotguns in this context.

They won't stop until we can't own a BB gun!

Plugs is going around saying the 2nd Amendment was never absolute.
They want those privately owned guns.

Every gun is semi-automatic. That will be language they will use!

Okay, thanks, I could understand what they meant but had never heard that terminology until recently so I was wondering if it was being politicized.

As a bipartisan group of lawmakers in the Senate discuss potential legislative action on gun violence in wake of the massacre, the House GOP members’ positions show a small yet notable contingent of Republicans in favor of some type of gun restrictions despite the party being largely averse to gun control measures.

Oklahomans wouldn’t be impacted by possible gun reform laws from Congress
The way it is designed would allow Oklahoma to opt out.
Andy WeberOKLAHOMA CITY —
Oklahomans wouldn’t be impacted by possible gun reform laws coming down from Congress.
The way it is designed would allow Oklahoma to opt out. In fact, current state law would require Oklahoma to opt out of grants related to red flag laws.

These laws are designed to confiscate firearms when owners are deemed to be at risk of causing harm to themselves or others.
"We will, in the course of investigations and oversight, and in terms of legislation that may be considered, be looking to try to find ways to try to make events like this less likely to happen in the future," said Sen. John Cornyn, (R) Texas.
Cornyn had the message following the mass shooting in Uvalde. The Associated Press reported that senators from both sides of the aisle are looking at ways to incentivize states to pass red flag laws.
Such an incentive though wouldn’t work for Oklahoma because of legislation passed in 2020.
"Agencies cannot use any federal dollars to enforce a red flag law and then also it goes into the effect that you cannot have gun buybacks and things like that," said Don Spencer, president of Oklahoma Second Amendment Association.
Spencer pushed for the bill that’s now law.
"The United States constitution is very clear, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed," Spencer said.
KOCO 5 reached out to Oklahoma’s senators to ask what they want to see done but neither were available for interviews on Wednesday.
In a statement regarding the response to the tragedy in Uvalde, Sen. James Lankford said, "…deserves a thoughtful and careful evaluation of where we really are as a nation—not a rushed political response for the sake of just 'doing something.' We have a moral responsibility as Americans to respond to this moment while not jeopardizing clear constitutional rights."

frick those worthless scumbags.
So by their logic, release criminals- crime skyrockets- murders skyrocket- ban guns.
And what happens if a school shooter uses a pump 12 gauge next time? Ban them too?

If events like Uvalde do not strengthen their resolve to protect the 2A then they were never really interested in preserving our rights to begin with. They are simply pandering to the crowd they believe gives them the best chance of being reelected. Typical politician scum.

Useful trivia: I legally bought an AK47 during the last assault weapons ban, at an out of state gun show.
Thanks to another useless Clinton era regulation, my AK came with a bayonet ring welded onto it (preventing use of a bayonet). When that regulation expired, I had a gunsmith cut the ring off and refinish the rifle.

You beat me to it.
When are these spineless Retardlicans going to figure out that you never, EVER give an INCH to the Left?
You don't COMPROMISE with the Left. You better believe they don't compromise.
You don't "reach across the aisle" because you can bet the farm that the left only reaches across the aisle to either pick your pocket or grope your private area.
You don't break ranks with the other republicans, because the Left goose steps in lock step.
You are there to represent your constituents. PERIOD.
