If your intention is to reduce deaths caused by gun violence, you need to shift your argument to handguns. Rifles aren't even a blip on the radar when you look at total yearly deaths due to gun violence.

The hogs are so bad in Texas that it is now legal to shoot them with a semi-auto from a helicopter.

Thank you, this is the first response that wasn't full of just feels. I would say you'll have to rely on a revolver.

So my only line of defense as a law abiding American would be 6 shots from a revolver.

Against a (criminal) who has no limits and is free to use his weapon of choice.

No thanks

So apparently the armed citizenry chased the shooter down, and then off the road?

That would be a boost to the 2nd amendment, no?

sadly that's true, and the worse part is that gun deaths are most commonly suicides or accidental. But there's no way that handguns are going to be outlawed in the United States.

Just for reference.... Which of these should be made illegal, and why?

Helicopter hunts legal since 2011. Hot air balloons added later. No hunting license necessary.

Considering that the American Buffalo was hunted nearly to extinction without the need for a semi-automatic weapons.

Yeah...the Indians would drive them over cliffs and then harvest what they could before the smell of rotting flesh became too much.

So you admit you are trying to restrict the rights of every law abiding american, in hopes it will curb something that is a very very small percentage of the overall issue?

And I heavily emphasize the word hope, seeing as the people committing these crimes would not be subject to the restrictions

Just for references... What would be the birth rate of a single buffalo? Now... What would be the birth rate of a single feral sow? (Hint... The pig has multiple litters of multiple pigs a year.... The Buffalo has a single calf once every few years)

You need to drive those pigs over a cliff like the nature loving Indians did.

Right? Laying out an obvious hunting related situation where it is beyond advantageous to be able to send as much lead down range as possible to kill as many hogs as possible before they scatter is obviously an emotional appeal.

How is a 9 shot revolver different than a magazine load pistol?

I shot a sow twice with a .357 Magnum one night (kind of dumb, definitely cruel) and it hardly staggered.

They are tough sums a bitches.

Which is why i eagerly await the solution to the hog issue and how to truly end it once and for all with shotguns and 4 shot bolt actions.

He's clueless. But... We knew that.

Thats true....so what does that do for the position that hand guns kill people? Should all methods that are used in suicides be regulated.

So, again...what is an "assault rifle"? By what characteristics do you identify one?

Semi-auto rifle that accepts large capacity magazines. Could be anything from a M-1 carbine WWII style rifle to an AR-15, MAC-10/11, MP5, AK-47, etc.

Bolt action, lever action, or rifles that accept clips would not be considered assault rifles, in my view.
