One of my favorites...

Explain again what makes these laws racist.

Because them poor colored folk are too stupid to know how to get an ID then go vote.

It truly is the White Man's Burden to be a progressive these days. The struggle is real.

Yeah, because cigarettes are in no way a cause of lung cancer.

What? You've argued for pages and pages that it's something other than gun laws that are causing differences in violence in urban areas. Pick 2 urban areas with vastly different gun laws, control for everything else, and then you'll have a data point.

(hint: it'll show the opposite of what you believe)

What does it take for a cigarette to cause lung cancer?

again, why are you bringing up outlier mass killings?

Because you made an absolute point about gun fetishists not having any effect on anything that it easily disproves. Make better points.

so the gun fetishists cannot be associated with a direct link to our gun violence issues?

The gun fetishists drive the debate around gun laws. A majority of Americans want stricter gun laws, but we have a tiny minority that has stymied it to this point.

That study doesn't prove waiting periods to be any sort of obstacle.

It doesn't have to. By definition, we know that waiting periods are an obstacle.

What it does prove is that there is a statistically significant relationship between waiting periods for handguns and gun violence.

There is zero evidence that waiting periods actually save any sort of significant number of lives

Except for the study which you clearly neglected to read, posted earlier in this thread.

Oops.

We have vast numbers of safety laws, regulations, licensing requirements, inspections, etc for cars.

Do we have an excess of vehicular deaths per mile driven when compared to other wealthy, peaceful nations?

To people who follow the law. But people who follow the law aren't the issue we have with guns in this country now is it?

Your study, much like all your other studies and graphs, is bullshite.

Let's talk more about correlation....

We drive a frick ton more than other wealthy peaceful nations (aka western Europe).

Oh really? How many elderly who can't see still drive? How many teenagers are on the road?

Know what will end 99% of vehicular deaths? Limit the speed of travel to 25mph.

Why don't you care about the kids who die in car accidents?

Ready to ban cigs yet? Cigarettes exponentially more people than firearms each year.

Why don't you care about the children who die from second hand smoke? Why don't you care about the minority bar worker who picks up night shifts at the local bar and has to breathe in all that cig smoke?

Why does Tommy's life only matter if it's ended by a gun but doesn't matter if he dies from cigs?

eventually Bama did say that SES played a large role in the difference in violent crimes between cities within the same state

SES plays a large role in violent crime rates.

So do lax gun laws.

So do other factors.

You're focusing on the first one and ignoring the others, for some dumbass reason.

When are you going to call for a ban on alcohol/tobacco/high fructose corn syrup?

These three things kill exponentially more people than guns each year yet you're perfectly okay with a 5 year old eating his weight in sugar. You're okay with Tammy smoking 2 packs a day. You're fine with Richard drinking a pint of whiskey and beating his wife.

Why are you such a hypocrite?

If you think the only factor playing into crime rates is the strength of various laws, you're a bigger fool than you let on here.
