How long does one of these batteries last?? - Is there a disposal problem? = can any of the materials be recycled to make new batteries??

Theoretically the batteries can be recycled or re-purposed but Lithium Ion batteries have a finite life. Just like how a two to three year old phone isn't going to have the same longevity as it did new out of the box.

For repurposing, proposals are using them to store energy for wind or solar. So we're going to have these massive collections of a potentially hazardous substance. Lithium is highly reactive to oxygen and why you hear of laptops and phones exploding when these batteries expand and crack due to heat or defective components.

Then there is the issue of the amount of energy and chemicals used to refurbish these batteries.

It is far more green to keep that evil fossil fuel vehicle for much much longer and taking care of it than buying a hybrid or electric.

I heard that there are companies trying to figure out a way to make recycling these batteries profitable, right now there’s no money in it so they are going to pile up somewhere.

Its sad that some of you are so lost in the cult that you feel it necessary to attack a child with Aspergers because she got Times person of the year for standing up for something she believes in.

Yet here we are.

Yeah let's ignore that she attacked and insulted everyone that doesn't think like her.

Nobody is attacking the poor mentally and developmentally challenged little girl.

It’s the exploitation and hypocrisy of her handlers that are being questioned.

If you cared about this little girl, you would be worried too.

One way to identity a person who has never interacted with a person who has Asperger. They do not really have a social filter.

If she is so mentally incapable of handling the spot light without insulting others, seems odd that her handlers would push her out there, no?

It would have been a better video if it had shown her getting out of or into the car to prove it's hers.

These symptoms sound eerily similar to fatherless children.

Liberal Hank if you cared about this girl, you would want her in school doing 16 year old girl things instead of being exploited by her parents.

What her parents are doing is cruel.

Feeling bad for her won't stop her from brainwashing and exploiting millions of other people.

I no longer feel bad for her. I feel bad for the people she's going to exploit in the future.

To a certain extent, it's like how sometimes, a child who is a victim of sexual abuse, grows up and becomes a rapist themselves.

You know as well as the rest of us that everything, including plastic, contributes to global warming and our ultimate doom.

Even though the reported emissions are rather paltry, the global warming community is making a case that plastics exposed to the sun will emit methane and ethylene gases.

Then there's that pesky connection to fossil fuels in the creation of plastic. They're not going to allow that one to go unheralded.

To the people who believe we are down to mere months of existence, plastics are a contributing factor and must be eliminated.

If we refuse to eliminate those items we need so desperately in our lives then a UN-sponsored tax for using these items is the next best thing. In fact, I often believe this is their ultimate aim.
