Saw this on Wal$Mart today and it just pissed me off. Beans, rice, vitamins, survival food are all that should be on EBT.

Why are the Crème eggs like 3 times the price of the caramel ones?

We just paid our taxes yesterday and let me state this in absolutely no uncertain terms: frick those leeches. I'm beyond pissed at the amount that we owed.
Getting a fresh reminder from the feds that what we've worked for is being syphoned off to millions of people that could work to improve their lives and choose not to has me at a boiling point and I don't think that's going to go down to a simmer anytime soon.

Why? Because Easter candy is a right not a privilege.

The Creme eggs are the full-sized ones. The caramel are smaller size, weighing 1/3 each of the regular ones.

While I agree with you and understand your frustration, SNAP was 1.9% of the budget. The three largest are Military, Healthcare, and interest on the debt at 16%

But those benefits going out to lazy deadbeats create enormous ripple effect problems- generations of wasted citizens demanding entitlements, caring nothing for education, acting as an anchor around the necks of 20% of our society.

When you keep buying garbage food for people, along with the "free" cell phones, utility bill supplements, rent stipends and incentives to have 15 kids, it creates welfare slaves for life.

Haven't got the final numbers from our 2023 taxes yet but my brother told me today he got broke off deep.

People living off the backs of others should be able to buy expensive candy with money they didn’t earn?

The thing that gets me is that most the people using EBT for this crap food have diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure which lead to all sorts of expensive health care complications like heart disease, kidney and liver failure. Not only are you paying for their free junk food, but their kidney transplants and dialysis as well. I would like to see the percentages of kidney and liver transplant patients who are obese and on Medicaid.

It is very frustrating for us as small business owners. I don't mind there being a safety net for people in genuine need. Hard times can happen to anyone and any time and for a variety of reasons. But the system we have isn't that. We're talking about people that simply choose to not be productive and mooch. If you're on a welfare program you darn well need to be limited to the types of food you can purchase.
