This is not the first shutdown and won't be the last. Surely previous experience should come to mind when planning. If you don't want to go through shutdowns anymore the answer lies in updating your resume and going out into the private job market.

Does Congress get paid during a shutdown? They shouldn't.
See this is my problem. If there are any government shutdowns, the only people who shouldn't get paid are the politicians. It's their fault things are shut down. Not the actual people who are actually affected by it.

And unpaid workers, remember to always worship Trump, even if you and your children incur huge late fees in all of your bills, or lose your home, or default on your obligations because Trump is who you should love, always, regardless of reality.

I 100% agree, but how long should I be expected to have my pay deferred before I have the right to complain or be upset?

I’ll ask you as well. As an essential federal employee, how long should I go with deferred payment and not complain?
I’m conservative as well and want a border wall, but I expect to get paid for services rendered.
I'll chime in with my own $0.08 worth. You're in a job just like everyone else who is employed. If something goes wrong with your job or your employer, you may think about looking elsewhere for employment.
Everyone understands that job change or any type of change is difficult and that's what the government officials who we elect are going through right now.
Change needs to occur and there are some who don't want to change.
No one here is wishing you ill will during your un-paid situation. There is a simple solution to this and it is funding a budget that the president will get on his desk to sign.

If you think that was a lecture, you really do have thin skin. Everyone should save 15 to 30% of their gross annual income for every reason, to include short-term loss of Revenue, investment opportunities that come along, short-term purchase needs, debt elimination, retirement savings, vacation savings, Christmas Club savings, taking the whole family to Disney World, Etc. Or have that credit card that Dave Ramsey doesn't like and use it in a time of need. A short-term loan. Like everyday Ordinary People do who care about others give of their money and their time to others. Just don't think about themselves all the time. Sorry. I don't need to be lecturing.
Yeah go lecture these Trump supporters in Florida who are still recovering from Hurricane Michael and now aren't getting paid either paychecks or reimbursements for their driving hundreds of miles to a federal prison.
How irresponsible of these people:

Your pay shall be deferred whenever anyone says “No” to Trump. Because nobody says “No” to Trump. Your labor and your sacrifice serve only Trump. As king, he can stop your paycheck whenever he doesn’t get his way.

Do you think your situation is different than someone who is laid off?

It appears that a lot of people think government employees only work in offices in DC and make $200,000 a year.

I'm beginning to think...you may not be who you claim to be.
You have the right to complain to someone that can take action. You need to be complaining to the Democrat leadership in the Senate and not to a message board that can't do anything about it. Your complaints of being upset need to be transferred into positive energy into successful outcome. Contact the Democrats who are opposed to border security on our Southern border and let them know how you feel.

Feel free to also replace with Reagan, H. Bush, and Clinton.

Valid point, but again we’re painting with a broad brush. Some industries or jobs aren’t in the private sector, like air traffic control.

You are so ignorant not to realize that even private industry is effected by this shutdown.
Y'all can downplay the Government's role in America's daily success, but you will learn the hard way if this keeps on going.

the boss has us out on the street today selling “evidence” until trump starts paying us again

If by this you mean "hold up construction projects and various other business processes due to the excessive regulatory red tape imposed by the government" then sure I guess you're correct.

Incorrect. Trump said he would take the mantle on this shutdown. Call the whitehouse.
He said don't blame the Democrats. You don't believe Trump to be a liar do you?
