Oh my, Nostradamus is amongst us! None of us in our circle of friends who work in private industry has noticed one iota of change during this PARTIAL shutdown. We ARE, however, enjoying the much better traffic in the metro area.

Ya, I would venture to guess he has a completely different position on the 2013 shutdown.

Yeah, because I still have to go to work.

Who died and made you Dave Ramsey? Stop viewing the world through the narrow lens of your circumstance and understand that there are some people in different circumstances than you. I’m prepared to absorb missing a few checks, but I’ll also understand that there are others who can’t go as far as I can. Do I look down on them and lecture them on a college football message board? No. Only a really insecure person would do that.

Incorrect. Trump said he would take the mantle on this shutdown. Call the whitehouse

You need a civics lesson. You don't understand how laws are written and bills get signed. I saw this thing once in the seventies on ABC, Schoolhouse Rocks. There's a video about it on YouTube I think. It's kind of catchy!

Ok, cool things that effect you personally are the only things that matter. Thanks for that perspective on things.

Do look up the difference between Effect and Affect, and proceed to use properly.

Tell Mitch McConnell to watch said video. He has article 1 co-equal powers but refuses to put bills to re-open the government on the floor.

Also, lookup veto override.

That's exactly the point. This is personally affecting you so you think it's the only thing that matters.

Who am I claiming to be? I’m an air traffic controller with the FAA. I’m going to work with deferred pay, and I’ve contacted both my senators and congressman. Thanks again for yet another lecture.

Trump told NBC's Lester Holt: "And in fact when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said 'you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story, it's an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won'."

Awesome self own.

They just won't get that check today. They'll receive full back pay when the shutdown is over. Just like every other shutdown.

And most of them will blow that back pay and go back to living check-to-check.

They won’t learn from this. There’s no incentive to.

I asked you on another thread yesterday and you didn't respond.

Did you whine when coal miners lost their jobs thanks to Obama's regulations ?

These shutdown workers will get full back pay. Coal miners got a fraction of their paychecks, because unemployment usually only pays you half of your average pay.

I don't remember hearing government workers or Liberals complaining about Obama bankrupting coal miners.

It's actually not directly affecting me yet. So before you assume something you should probably gather a basis for your reasoning.

I actually, unlike many so called compassionate conservatives, have to ability to empathize with others who are being hurt.

And unpaid workers, remember to always worship Trump, even if you and your children incur huge late fees in all of your bills, or lose your home, or default on your obligations because Trump is who you should love, always, regardless of reality.

Or we could just stop all entitlements during the shutdown and give that money to government employees. Your base would be really shook then.
