GOP senator asks Senate committee to subpoena Don Jr. over wedding celebration funds

Republican Sen. John Curtis of Utah is requesting that the Senate Judiciary Committee investigate after a report that a Russian oligarch helped to fund parts of a wedding celebration for the president’s son Donald Trump Jr.
Curtis asked in a letter for the committee to review President Donald Trump and former President Joe Biden’s families’ business dealings, writing that it is an essential move toward restoring trust in the government.
The request comes after the investigative outlet ProPublica reported last week that Umar Kremlev, a Kremlin-linked Russian oligarch, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Trump Jr.’s wedding celebration in the Bahamas.

it was for the wedding celebration, not the wedding itself.
Had Hunter gotten married and some Russian oligarch paid for a wedding celebration, we'd be interested in getting to the bottom of it as well.

Good. Will give him a chance to prove this is a nothing burger. I’m worth about 5 percent what Don Jr is worth. His wife has her own money as well. I got a $750 margarita machine from a rich buddy at my wedding. Some people buy nice things for their friends.
I paid $1500 for a fishing charter in Cabo next month for me and a buddy since we are staying at his house.
Nothing corrupt about it.
