Rep. Francis Rooney (R-Fla.) on Tuesday called for a "purge" of the FBI, warning of "deep state" figures at work in the agency.

Rooney said during an interview on MSNBC that the American people have "very high standards" for the country's government agencies, and suggested they aren't being met.

He was pressed during the interview on whether he is trying to discredit the Department of Justice, and by extension the investigation into Russia's election interference.

"I don't want to discredit them. I would like to see the directors of those agencies purge it," he replied.
"And say, look, we've got a lot of great agents, a lot of great lawyers here, those are the people that I want the American people to see and know the good works being done, not these people who are kind of the deep state."

When pressed further he specifically mentioned Peter Strzok, a top FBI agent who worked on the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server as secretary of State.

They should be careful here. They'll overplay their hand as usual and it won't end well.

When the MsM suggests this is a GOP effort to discredit Meuller, I want to hear the politician ask:

"Should we investigate if someone inside the FBI may have added criminal language to an already completed report for political purposes to ensure a political adversary is convicted?"

When the answer is "yes", then point out that "then you also have to investigate if someone changed language to exonerate a political ally. It's the same crime, and just as dangerous".

When you start threatening to purge federal law enforcement agencies because they don't like you (I realize they've been used as a political tool), it starts to sound draconian. That's not a good look whether it's the right thing to do or not.

These agencies were weaponized by their politics, it’s been pretty clear, using their own standards of policing. Shite was covered up, and their routine practices were evaded to protect a certain class. They know it, he’ll anyone honest, knows it....

i agree with you so its a good thing they arent saying that.

they are however saying clear and compelling evidence of widespread corruption and political activism has tainted the entire leadership of the justice dept and FBI to the point they must all be removed because when 30 of 36 apples are bad you cannot risk the last 6 being left in place or they will taint all the new apples brought in to restore integrity and the rule of law (not political activism) so there can once again be integrity at the dept.

i think every person in leadership and supervisory must go at this point and i dont care if that is 70% of the bureau. when the criminals are running the police dept (which is clearly shown to be the case at this point) you replace everyone even remotely involved.

any who wish to reapply for the job must pass a severe examination of their work history for the last 10 years and if any bias or political activity is detected, see ya later felicia go apply at burger king

The stench of the 'buried corpse' of Obama's criminal corruption of Bureaucracy at the highest levels is getting unbearable. As the tick tock evidence leaks out, and the fear levels ramp up, pressure builds on Sessions to make a move.

Sessions could do one thing to turn this whole ugly scenario on end; He could appoint a Special Counsel to investigate the corruption/collusion of the Obama DOJ/FBI/Intel Community. The formal opening of such a specific Investigation would immediately put ANY Bureaucratic Operative who does not cooperate and give honest testimony/evidence in danger of OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE.

Right now the Obama Deep State is stalling; praying for a Mid Term Congressional flip. The stall would end in a fortnight if Sessions pulls the trigger on said Investigation.

We'll see what happens when the OIG's Report comes out in mid-January. That will be Sessions last chance to step up.

Should they 'purge' everyone who demonstrated a dislike of the Clintons or Obamas? How about local elections? How should they evaluate opinions about state elections when they decide who meets the political test for enforcing the law?

Will there be a commissar for every department, making sure that counter-revolutionary thought doesn't creep into the bureaucracy?

When they're purged, do their images disappear from the photos of the department picnic?

Well sometimes if the bad guys just so happen to be your political opponents then you have to "look draconian" to do what is right.
