SFP absolutely tore your position apart, and the best you can do is whine that he doesn't align with stupidity from Trump Loyalists.

the actual conversation being had is that the papers show the military wanted a war with Iran and Trump opposed them. I think that’s a pretty good indicator that Trump isn’t a hawk

I don't think he's a hawk. He just wasn't pushed to make any real decisions outside of that one in Syria.

War with Iran is like war with NK. Fantasy stuff. Not tactile. Only John Bolton would really try to push that sort of war, and I'm not calling Trump insane like Bolton

*ETA: even though Trump did give Bolton a slot in the admin for a while, for...reasons?

Yep. Yuge mistake. I think that’s more indicative that Trump really has no set ideology outside of protectionism

Which isn't even an applicable argument because I didn't give any personal opinions.

I just stated Trump relied on GOPE policies for his main policy wins that his fans bring up and pretend are his own

But that falls directly on McCain and the Republicans in Congress. They had four years to come up with a plan BETTER for Americans than Obamacare. And they were ill prepared when Trump actually won. It's hard to lead a bunch of perpetual losers and that's what the current Republican party is.

They held the Senate during that time.

The GOP lost it under Trump's Presidency (and couldn't even get the mid-term takeover in 2022)

So you're saying Trump didn't have the US in one of the best economic periods in a long time, no war, on top of many other things?

You care too much about tweets maybe. No worries, so do 12 year old girls.

With his first presidential win, Trump fostered an actual winning GOP environment and was then rewarded by being constantly handicapped by his own party. That debate last night showed how he is still going to be. Using that rationale, there's one shot left for the Republicans to galvanize around him and re-elect him. But watching what I saw last night, I'm completely fine with the party descending into total chaos before I'd be pleased with ever, ever returning to whatever the frick that was.

Get on the Trump train. Let's win this thing.

The problem comes when the minority-splinter party is trying to hijack the larger party and holding it hostage. You have multiple Patriots who constantly post that they'll never support an "Establishment" candidate again and would rather the DEMs win and have America burn, than support someone other than Trump. This just ensures Democratic domination in the end.

There is a battle between good and evil being waged within the GOP.
all politics is evil, full stop

to the extent that the absence of organized governance is perpetual chaos, politics is a necessary evil, but it is still evil

what you perceive as 'good' in the GOP is merely evil being put in service of your own personal political interests

For sure, but Trump also said he had a secret plan that was much better on the campaign trail and in the lead up to the vote, and if he did, and it wasn’t just bluster, then release the plan. Let people see it

And you can't seem to understand why. It wasn't Trump. It was Paul Ryan and his cronies. And the party continues to put these kind of candidates up. Who do you think America First is voting for with these kind of candidates? They just don't vote. That's why the Dems took it over.

Even Gumbo has admitted that. He has definite ideas about the border & trade (and I'll leave a placeholder or two), outside of that you just don't know what you're going to get with Trump. Voting for a populist is risky as hell.

Paul Ryan and his cronies actually won the Senate. Why would they enact a plan to lose it?

Do you think he loves the U.S.? Or is he trying to sell it out like the current administration?

Without Trump, President Hilary would be in the middle of her second term right now and there would be an acolyte of hers squaring up to pick up her mantle as we speak. Who on that stage last night do you think would unseat her, assuming with no past MAGA movements, they'd all just be repeating McCain/Romney mantras? And if they'd maybe HAVE won, in what way, shape, or form do you think we'd be different under the GWB outline they'd be trying to follow? Government would be the same exact size and we'd be in the middle of a ten year campaign in Iran.

I see no difference, friend. They're all the same wearing different hats - until one guy didn't.

Well when your argument relies on broad-stroke talking points, where could this conversation go wrong?
