It's May 4th. It was assigned to a committee today. How long does it take to get to a vote? Won't it be damn near 5/15 before they can vote on it?

ETA: I am in full support of lifting the order and think the governor is totally reaching, but I also want to make sure I understand as the legislature loves to make these grand gestures with little to no real impact. Only to say they stood up to big bad JBE.

It will get to committee Wednesday and to the Senate before the weekend. Bottom line is if Edwards tries to extend the order they will pull the trigger. Republicans have him in a corner. He will have to reinstate the order two weeks later. That would be very unpopular.

If that passes, better say some prayers no floods, tornados or other natural disasters hit for 15 days. Seems like they'd want exception for those, while addressing COVID-19 issues.

Yep. Republicans are loading the gun and aiming it at alien boy. If he doesn't end the shutdown May 15th, they'll pull the trigger.

So they are doing basically nothing.

It's all part of the show. They will have their fingers just as deep in the federal pie when it comes in. This is why we don't need a government

Among other things - that's when I first became aware of him.

There's a 0% chance that he ends this on 5/15

Talked to my state Rep a few minutes ago. He said the N.O> delegation lost its fricking mind. They were spreading rumors of armed protest heading to the capital and wanted the Capital Police armed with Machine guns at the capital.
