What are the social and ethical implications associated with such genetic engineering? This class will examine the 19th- and 20th-century eugenics movement in America; how American eugenics and race policy impacted Nazi Germany's murderous push for racial "purity"; and how present-day CRISPR and gene editing technology can be utilized for good while keeping a 21st-century eugenics movement at bay. Students will develop skills to identify, think critically about, discuss and debate ethically-nuanced aspects of these topics.

quote:

BIO_SC 3050: Genetics and Society Examines topics in human biomedical genetics from both a scientific and a social standpoint. Current topics include gene editing and gene drive, prenatal testing and genetic counseling, hemoglobin genes and gene therapy, COVID-19 and inequality, racial disparities in medicine, gender issues in STEM fields, sports federations and the intersex athlete, ancient DNA and human migrations, altitude adaptations. There are 50 nongendered bathrooms on the LSU campus. The Law Center has the most (8) - one of many examples of how entrenched the DEI movement is at the Law Center. The Vet School and Electrical Engineering Bldg have no nongendered bathrooms.

Nice, is that your kids curriculum? Dont think too many engineers outside of bio will be studying much biology but looks like some interesting classes

Isnt mizzou a journalism school?

So I'll ask again... do you think our policy should be to lock up gays in mental institutions. You haven't been clear about your position there.

No I don't but let's look at what's happened on the slippery slope to chaos:
1. Homosexuality removed from the APA list of mental disorders.
2. Gay lifestyle accepted as normal and actually promoted in academia and pop culture. Those in opposition are silenced.
3. Gay marriage as constitutional right.
4. Promotion of homosexual couples adoption of children
5. Transgender rights.
6. Transgender activism and those who oppose are silenced.
7. Currently in progress - Rights of pedophiles and mainstreaming of pedophilia

You're the one talking about communist Russia like it's awesome...not me

Modern Russia is NOT a communist country and I'm not saying it's awesome but I am saying there's not much difference between modern Russia and the U.S. with the current regime (and media).
In fact, I can guarantee the FSB won't be investigating its citizens for opposing their children's exposure to perverts and LGBTQ activism.

It would. The legal profession is the epicenter for SJW insanity.

Critical Race Theory came out of law schools.

The more you get out into the real world, the more people you will deal with who have different opinions than you. Sheltering a kid from college bc of "extreme political biases" does not concern me as my kid will be in STEM and naturally able to think for themselves. If my kid wants to be a lib, great for them, its their life I am not here to nanny them through it

All irrelevant to what I just said.

People are complaining about extreme political bias.

You pretended that they just didn't want their kids to hear different opinions.

That's called a strawman.

Never forget the U of Missouri and the fake incident that kick started the campus retardation.

The OT thread on this was incredible. These retarded hucksters were freaking out and we were following as it happened.

I dont see how any of these kids will survive if the economy collapses.

did you read the OP?

quote:

Our neice recently graduated from LSU and has been totally brainwashed by LSU! Here is why and worse, now LSU professes it so arrogantly as if its their own religion. It is a religion.

It's NOT our values!

Parents need to fight back or go elsewhere! Have you asked what the "+" is at the end of LGBT means? It means every preverson you can think of that is an abomination to God!Yes, there is more of their sin to be unveiled unless we stand up and stop this now!

They are after your children's minds and consequently their souls!

Here's the proof!
LSU Endocrination Statement

My word, they have a DEI Office and Board!
The Victimization Starts Here Office

Hell, still confused? Look at the inclusive gender bathrooms. It's a map of all of the bathrooms where men can rape your daughters just because they can say they are females!

This has become a religion to them make no bones about it! Parent protect your children fron this evil endocrination or LSU will undo all you have instilled in your child and do so within four years! They will convert your child from God to Satan and you'll pay them to do it!

Send your kids where ever you want i could care less

Right. College is where you are supposed to be exposed to these ideologies.

Campuses are blocking conservatives and preserving "safe spaces" however, which is extreme.

Was everyone just not paying attention to this for a few decades?

Mizzou didn’t kick start anything. Political correctness was the wokeness of the 80s and began language policing and cancel culture in earnest in the US.

I have a Politically Correct Fairy Tale book I pulled off my book shelf the other day. It was printed in the early 90s and sounds like some woke tranny kid wrote it last week.

not adults until age 25 or so

Thru dat - I have often said that we should set the 'age of adulthood' to 26. That is what the brainiacs decided was the amount of time they could suck off their parents wrt insurance etc.

I'd say actual 'adulthood' akin to what was expected of 'adults' back in pre-depression era would be closer to 35.

I do not think anyone who is not a 'true' adult should be allowed to participate in any decision making process that had any direct effect on the way the government operates - yes, election and public service jobs.

And at the moment, that age of 26 would be marginal.

At the very minimum we need to tighten up who is eligible to vote, and enact absolute control over the election process from beginning to end - which means to complete do away with most of the bullshite built into the current system - it has been allowed to become more and more liable for fraud for the entire history of our country, but in the last decade there has been a dedicated, now open, assault on any and all election safeguards.

= rigorous re-constitution of all voting registration rolls.
= one day voting - federal holiday - from 8pm one day to 8pm the following day.
= in person only ID required - no exceptions. "forget your id" = go back and find it.
= 20 year prison sentence for any voter fraud adjudicated.
= paper ballots only - no do-overs - get it right or don't get counted. (be serious when voting)
= initiate counting immediately in monitored area, nothing released until all complete.
= maintain ballots under secured control for 10 years
= etc

Brainwashed in 4 years? After living with your brother/sister for 18 years?

Terrified of opposing views around here.

My freshman English composition course was decades ago. We discussed rape culture, gay rights and abortion rights. And not as “being exposed to other ideas.” If you took any stance other than the stance approved by my lesbian art history/English TA, she would yell at you in class.

She gave me a C- on a great piece I wrote on defunding the NEA because my concluding paragraph called out progressives for censoring ideas they didn’t like. She said “I gave you that grade because the left doesn’t censor people. Only the right does.”

And some people are born with 11 fingers.

The vast majority of parents aren't worried about their children *hearing* different opinions.
