IF you do your job on the front end with your children, you don't have to worry about this BS once they get to college. I have three children who graduated from large state schools and each have retained their beliefs and teachings from when they were children.

Super happy that my daughter went to the University of Oklahoma. Great, conservative school that tolerates these issues but does not put 5% of the effort into promoting it like LSU now does.

Oklahoma State is even more conservative than OU and there are still large elements of progressivism everywhere I look. Much different than when I graduated there in 1996.

do you think your kids will ever encounter any non-republicans in the real working world?

College is not the real working world.

Would you send your kid to Bob Jones University? Let's say the program of choice is a good one, they're just going to get a lot of extra learning on top of that. Would you do it or would you seek an education that came without the beliefs you don't share?

i would just teach my kid to think for themselves while i am still their guardian and let them go to whatever school they feel is best for them. theyre going to meet all kinds of people once they get a job anyway, best to not shelter them imo

Good, lord. Scared boomer snowflakes are the worst.

Is the gay demon in the room with you now?

kids in STEM are probably learning about differential equations, force couples, entropy always increasing with time, terminal velocity, etc...

With you paying?

You must be pretty rare, because I don't think there are a ton of liberal kids from liberal families going to outspoken conservative universities.

Sheltering isn't good.

Neither is drowning them in woke culture for 4 years minimum.

They will still have to sit through classes on how to help you people succeed in a meritocracy.

i have a fund for my daughter but probably cant afford any ritzy/expensive schools but would love for her to go to LSU and could certainly afford that. I took out student loans for my education so if she wants to go to an expensive school she would have to do the same to some degree

Which is why universities are breaking.

People who need safe spaces arent fit to live in a society with diverse people.

While I disagree with LSU or any college offering this type of thing, I sent three kids to LSU and they came out more conservative than when they went in.

Maybe it's parenting?

Not nearly on the insanity scale of many schools.

The more liberal arts majors, the more insanity you will have.

Find a university that isnt run by progressives and doesnt protect shitty political beliefs..

Simple as that.

If a child is "brainwashed" by a couple of bozo professors, it's likely the parents fault to begin with.

What you preach is the cold, hard truth.
In this day and age, you have to carefully "red-pill" your children during their adolescent formative years and be an active mentor in their lives during this time.
A job in high-school, descent grades in core-curriculum, test-scores and extracurricular activities won't be enough to get that tuition break at your favorite state school, but the Jesuits will back the money truck up to your door.
I practiced what I preached and with reservation sent two daughters (no pics), one to NOLA and one to Philadelphia, into the fiery crucibles where true progressives are forged.
Both emerged hardened, their values intact, and got pretty good jobs with B.A. degrees...because they're grounded and have a work ethic.

>> as another poster mentioned, Tik Tok and IG reels spreading to Gen Y & Z financial angst and covert socialist propaganda are a much greater foe to defeat, especially to an adult that was once your child.

Trade schools in the meantime, trying to balance colleges out in the longterm.
