I like the way he has that shat eating grin on his face when he asks questions… and sometimes laughs.

It’s great except...Nothing happens
Sure it does.
The congressperson grilling the witness gets free content to post online that causes voters to post things like, "He's a fine fellow; I hope he becomes POTUS one day," people are entertained by what amounts to a WWF shouting match, and the congressperson gets to add to his or her public perception of being a based rising star in the party.
For free, basically. These "Congressional Hearings" are essentially campaign ads that they don't have to buy.
If you mean nothing ever happens about the waste, fraud, mismanagement, etc., then sure, nothing happens about that.
But that's not the point of the hearings.
For people who are supposedly all about sticking it to "The Swamp," you MAGA populists are super slow on the uptake regarding these hearings.

Marion Barry, the Democratic mayor, said that he needed Coke to survive.

I hope I see Brandon Gill one day sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office. He’s that good.

He turning into the best Congressman in Texas. Could he be the next Senator in Texas when Cruz gets nominated to the SCOTUS by Trump? Would Greg Abbott appoint him as interim US Senator?

All these people have the same cop-out answers: "I'm not a nutritionist", "I'm not a physician", "I'm not a biologist".
And I'm not an ER doctor, but I know a bullet hole when I see one. You don't have to be an expert to understand the obvious.

Yeah, They start off honest, sincere, and with good intentions, they end up indicted by the Grand Jury.

Yes, I think this guy would be an outstanding replacement if Cruz was appointed to the Supreme Court.
I hope this man doesn't get corrupted like so many good people who get elected.
I can imagine that Gill is already being offered lots of candy by Big Food and big pharm

I'd like to see more of him first, but he is certainly the type of Rising Star the GOP needs

Gill has been MAGA long before he moved back to Texas from DC and it took him awhile, but other than being the next loud mouth with smart quips and stinging gotcha's in a house committee, like Jim Jordan or Howdy Doody Gowdy or even Jason Chaffetz. Loud mouths all of them. Making the news, exciting the base, but absolutely 'do-nothings' when it came to legislative achievement. Is he going to follow their path or actually accomplish something? TBD

Nailed it
No notes
I say the same thing about John Kennedy. Lots of big talk, but what has he accomplished?

The deep state is deeper than your certification to dive. Can’t reach the wreck.

SNAP and any other govt benefits should be for essentials only. No soda, no candy, no lobster.
I just don't get what is hard to understand about Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program meaning. If it doesn't have any true nutritional value, it should not be approved. I mean they have the WIC program and there is an approved list and those items are strictly limited to things that are nutritionally beneficial. Why is SNAP any different?

He’s got some great quotes but let’s be honest. The whole lobby industry and congress itself is conflict of interest. It’s how the system works or doesn’t work. Nothing here is shocking. He just got his gotcha question in and move along.

I stopped drinking soft drinks long ago. Haven't had an energy drink in a while, either. I do everything I can to avoid sugary or even artificially sweetened drinks. I do use hydration/electrolyte packs, though I try to avoid products using sucralose, including protein products. For me that stuff induces sleep problems and messes with my hunger and satiety, reducing the feeling of being full as it seems to increase my appetite.
I drink lots of water now as I take creatine, which relies on water to help build and/or repair muscle.

Note:
When “Food Security Expert” is an official job title- we’re probably too far gone.
The irony of how much that hearing cost, in light of its purpose, is not lost on me.
