What I don’t get is, if that is truly the case and Kemp personally set that up, why would you antagonize him?

Their arguments make no rational sense
This is all just emotions (anger, primarily) at the steal.
That's why any rational analysis/questioning ends up with these same meltdowns. It's like...they've repeated these things so often, that's all they can respond with and how they see their entire political worldview. If only we had terms to describe such scenarios/behaviors

It's even more insane when you consider Kemp has governed to the right of Trump and most R governors and his only GOPe crime is not being sufficiently loyal to Trump (although he's been quietly supportive for 3 years and barely rebuked Trump despite Trump's toddler outburst Saturday).

You need to get it through your thick skull.
Their goal is not to gain votes for Kamala.
Their goal is to continue to let Trump shed votes.

He and people like him have little at stake in this election, it's been like that for years for some of them

I'm going to try to explain this to them for the 100th time.
When Trump tried to change the demographics of the GOP and make it a working/lower class and uneducated laborer party, this shift left behind a huge chunk of traditional republicans. They are Republicans (moreso than MAGA, if you look at what that means historically), but not big MAGA supporters. Their support of Trump/MAGA can be lost (may not lead to DEM votes, but they may not show up).
These people have shown they will not show up (or support DEMs in some cases) if Trump (or his adjacent candidates) debases himself enough. This is exactly how Trump (and his 2 Senators) lost GA while someone like Kemp won easily.
Trump cannot win unless a very large % of this population shows up and votes for him.
They do not like Trump when he devolves into his temper tantrums, especially if the target is someone they prefer to Trump.
Given this, someone explain to me the logic of Trump attacking Kemp unprovoked by Kemp.
