It's always the low-IQ types that have never seen hiw quickly an escalation of threat can happen. Hamstringing LEO's by making them second guess an action via the threat of being pubished for it has already cost lives of police officers.
Yep. Go watch “Police Activity” on YouTube. You’ll see how quickly those calls go from compliance to shootout.

Cops are not your friends.
They might be, they might not be. The problem is that you don't know.
The "cops are adversaries" "cops want to kill you" narrative has killed more people than necessary. When people take a fearful and adversarial approach to police, the police are more likely to do the same. Guess what happens next?
All you people pushing that narrative have blood on your hands. A cop is a person, likely with a family to go home to. They don't want anything to get in the way of that, including unnecessary paperwork. If you are cool with them, they will be cool with you. Treat them like an enemy, and they will see you as a potential threat. It's really that simple.
Don't run from a dog. Don't act scared of a dog. If the dog sees that you don't see him as a threat, you are not a threat to him. Same goes for cops and all living things.

And in a generation this will decrease the quality of police recruits so the anti-cop shitasses can whine even louder

Why do they always make it about race? And unarmed does not meat not a threat.

I said be cautious, not combative. I rarely have professional interactions with them and every one in the last 20 years has been a traffic stop, and I've been polite, they've been polite, and I got warnings.
But a traffic stop isn't every interaction. You should watch this,
Youtube
then read a few stories about cops hitting a parked car and lying about it (captured on camera fortunately), or planting drug evidence, or shooting a guy after a wreck then carefully picking up his brass from the scene. I don't blame them for being cautious with me when I'm an unknown, but they're unknown as well.

NOTE TO ANY CALIFORNIA POLICE OFFICER (that isn't rogue): Come to TEXAS(*) where we support law enforcement.
(*)Excluding Austin where you have to leave the homeless alone no matter how violent they are, and Dallas County where you have to let people steal anything under $750.

But the standard already set by court rulings is that officers must have thought in the heat of the moment that deadly force was necessary, so the law's new language "is really a kind of nominal and maybe symbolic change," Weisberg said. "It's still all going to be about what is reasonably necessary."

That's what I'm saying. Treat them as an unknown, rather than an active adversary.

This law does nothing.
The standards for deadly force were set by the Supreme Court in Graham v Conor.
This law does not change those standards.
It is just so politicians can make voters think they changed something when in fact they did not.

Hell yes, we can Have Escape from New York and Escape from LA occurring simultaneously.
Seriously who the hell in their right minds would want to be in law-enforcement in these cities?

Your 100% right! But they are a necessary evil. Without them we couldn't work and make a living because we would all be home protecting our shite from thieves.

It even says this in the article. It doesn't seem like this law will change much. It's mostly virtue signaling.
quote:
Yet several police agencies said the new law, which replaces one passed in 1872, simply codifies policies already used in major California cities that emphasize de-escalation.
quote:
Yet Plumas County sheriff's Deputy Ed Obayashi, a use-of-force consultant to law enforcement agencies, said the new law wouldn't have saved Clark nor changed prosecutors' decision not to charge the officers.
"It's a false sense of security to those that think this is going to shift the needle," Obayashi said.
quote:
A more significant deterrent is a pending Senate bill requiring that officers be trained in ways to defuse confrontations, alternatives to opening fire and how to interact with people with mental illness or other issues, said California Police Chiefs Association President Ron Lawrence.
This doesn't sound bad, either. The people with the power of death and imprisonment over others should be highly trained.

I’m starting to think turning Cali into a shithole is a strategic move to force residents out. They seem to go to Colorado, Arizona and Texas. Bad news.

get out of here with your lazy bullshitee snipe. Cops are ridiculously quick to use deadly force. Cops who are so scared need to find different careers. Cops can be cops without pulling a gun for every little thing. Stop worshiping the blue and grow a brain. Cops are not your friends.
Looks like you’re losing the debate
