The state could be another North Korea and running the worse possible candidate imaginable and Elder would still lose. In California, what matters is who counts the votes. The radical left now controls California and they will never give up power. The only way to break their grip is to send in the army.

It isn’t a vote of Newsom vs Elder, it is a two part vote of “recall” and “new Governor if recall passes”.
And it doesn’t require a majority for the latter.
Newsom has pissed off so many people he may lose and there are no strong Dem challengers while most GOP have thrown behind Elder. If the recall passes, Elder likely wins.

Larry Elder never had a chance. It's California. As angry as they are at Newsome, California is filled with Californians. Getting a Republican of any kind in that state was always a pipe dream, and will continue to be. Demographics is destiny.

I think he win's more so because there isn't many (Non-Left) voters left in California that actually care anymore. The friends I know that haven't moved say they no longer have faith in the system to be able to correct the terrible decisions of the elected people. They don't believe they can "vote them out" anymore. Those that can are also making their plans to move out of California in the next few months. A lot of them also strongly believe this is where our federal government is headed and attempting to stop it may be a lost cause at this point under the current playbook.
