seems like he's grandstanding. white knighting.

those defending KM claim his "compromises" were contextual. I haven't seen that justifiably explained yet. Very disappointing to hear Jim Jordan say KM did absolutely nothing wrong. He could have said yeah he made some mistakes, but I still supported him.

Do the Republicans have the power to force appropriations bills through to Presidential signature? Or do the Democrats still control the majority of the process?

So is running on a platform that says you are going to accomplish a list of things if given the office, then immediately doing none of that and working with "the other side" while working against your party's interests

Yea, he's playing stupid or he's an idiot!

It was all about McCarthy's broken promises and backroom deals with the pedocrats.

Cult45 wants an authoritarian government as long as their guy is running it.

/\ THIS /\ is the most important thing that MUST be accomplished before we are totally bankrupt.

and perhaps this was the ONLY chance to get it done.

Frankly, I am surprised the DEMs went along with it - seems like they'd have preferred just killing the motion - then they got their CR - and everything else they demand.

Frankly - with the possibility of getting Jordon in there - and the hope that HE follows thru - there MAY be a slim chance of getting this damned leaking barge to the shore before it goes over the falls.

Trump loves him some Garret Graves, at least he did. Sat right in the suite with Trump, right next to the First Lady at the LSU game vs Alabama in 2019. Each time Trump went to Lake Charles to the natural gas terminal there Graves was. And not like any normal Louisiana politician when a President visits their State, I mean he is right there next to all White House staff. And each time he visited, Trump would mention him favorably.

I always kind of knew that wouldn’t last that long once the Louisiana political idiots got through to Graves.

I'm guessing AOC is jealous that she and the Squad didn't do something similar a few years ago.
Pelosi is breathing a sigh of relief. The Squad had no idea how much power that had. But they didn’t negotiate the rule to vacate the Speaker with a single vote.

One of the Best rebuttals in Congress just took place at Graves expense. That Louisiana congressman in that speech was Graves. Gaetz drug his nutts across Graves face, and it was a thing of beauty. Hope Graves loves his Persian Gold…

8 GOP extremist rebels voting with all Dems to remove GOP Speaker, thwarting the will of 95% of GOP Members?
Good.

GOP majority voting with a few Dems to elect GOP Speaker of Texas House, thwarting a handful of extremist GOP Members?
Bad.

???

I struggle with Gaetz voting with the democrats and being heralded as a hero. Many other Rs and called rhinos or backstabers when they side with the democrats. This whole mess only helps the Ds in upcoming elections

I like how Graves conveniently failed to mention that the Speaker formally known as Kevin McCarthy is the one who got schooled by Democrats.

Kevin is the one who believed he had a deal with Pelosi by thinking she would bail him out if the MTV was actually used.

quote:

He's also called the Florida congressman a "clown" who he said "would be a great dictator on a small island nation or something."

That clown absolutely destroyed you during the debate to remove Kevin. Mic dropped your arse.

quote:

"Official actions to raise money," Graves said, "It's disgusting. It's what's disgusting about Washington."

Says the guy who’s biggest campaign contributors is the Oil & Gas industry…the one who gets 53% of his campaign contributions from PACs.

Meanwhile, Gaetz gets 61% of his money from donors who contribute less than $200.

Graves throwing all kind of rocks from his glass house. Let’s see how he votes on banning all money from PACs and lobbyists that Gaetz is gonna propose next

Graves is an idiot first of all. Geatz used the failure of KM as a war cry. That KM went running to democrats to get backing says it all
